Harrison@Stage6 09-28-2008, 08:01 AM Here are what my factory bump stops looked like when we pulled them out last night. Kinda sad.....

Razorecko 09-28-2008, 08:48 AM ^ holy crap, is that on a stock suspension or did you have any suspension mods - and is that just the front or rear or both ??
hound 09-28-2008, 08:51 AM It looks like they did their job. Be thankful they were there :)
Harrison@Stage6 09-28-2008, 08:54 AM Yes.... stock suspension. Well, I had the BWoody end links on it for a little while but there's no way they could have caused this. I believe they just deteriorated due to being pieces of chit! :D Be honest with you..... I don't remeber if they were fronts or rears. I just saw them on the floor and flipped and snapped a picture of them. My buddy tends to think that some fluids got on them and that's the reason the deteriorated. Could be true..... I had a tranny leak back in Feb. for a few weeks. Who knows.... Anyone else's look like this?
BlackJeepSRT 09-28-2008, 08:55 AM Horrible focusing. Even more horrible bumpstops. Mine look like new at 11k miles. Should have kept them in.

Yeah right..... I have been known to do a few HARD launches in my lifetime!

Dude..... the pictures were from my iPhone, not my digital.
CentralTexHemi 09-28-2008, 09:00 AM Thats bad man mine looked fine when they were off on Friday
Quit jumping the Jeep! ha ha....
DevssrT 09-28-2008, 05:44 PM Damn...thats bad....good thing you got new suspension.
aplatero1984 09-28-2008, 05:47 PM DDDAAAMMNNNN!!! u sure you didn't have any squirrels chewing on it or somethin!!!! GEEZ!:D
Hotscott7 09-28-2008, 06:10 PM Those are the rears, and at 30,000 mine looked brand new. Something was messed with yours
Harrison@Stage6 09-28-2008, 07:55 PM Maybe that's why it used to launch so good :D All I can say is I like it now and the overall RIDE of the truck going down the road, doesn't feel much harsher than stock. It defintely feels better in the turns though!
Harrison@Stage6 09-28-2008, 07:57 PM Anyone know if tranny fluid blowing on them for a month break down the material from which it's made of? That was another thought from my buddy.
Razorecko 09-28-2008, 08:30 PM ^ yep, probally soaked into the stop than they just degraded from that point on.

Hard to believe, but maybe...
frenchified 09-29-2008, 11:52 AM Yeah there had to be something going on. Mine has close to 36k on it and I put my bwoody springs on saturday, my stops looked like they were fresh out of the box

Mine were perfect too...those things were focked up. Some kind of chemicals or something had to get on those to deteriorate them like that??? Maybe certain car wash soaps or wheel cleaners?
frenchified 09-29-2008, 07:31 PM I didnt even think about that. The spray on wheel cleaners could easily get to them and would probably do work on them especially on hot days
Grip Grip 09-29-2008, 07:39 PM Something must have deteriorated them. My Jeep has more miles and mine are pristine.
Harrison@Stage6 09-29-2008, 07:51 PM I don't use wheel cleaners.... only soap and water. Like I said, I did have a nasty tranny fluid leak for about a month. Got to be it. The truck never bottomed out. Remember, these are foam or urathane or something. Still leaning towards the tranny fluid. Actually, I really don't care. They're off the truck now and new one's are one. I just don't see anything else doing this to them but a fluid of some sort and a tranny leak was proven.
Blown-WK 09-29-2008, 07:59 PM Maybe I sabotaged them last time we were at the bar:D
Harrison@Stage6 09-29-2008, 08:07 PM *****er..........
