page 40 (i think) of your owners manual will tell you how to turn off the chime.

The following steps must occur within the first 60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the ON or START position. DaimlerChrysler does not recommend deactivating the Enhanced Warning System (Belt Alert).

1.Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position and buckle the driver's seat belt.
2.Start the engine & wait for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn off.
3.Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle & then re-buckle the driver's belt at least three times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt buckled.

Note:
Watch for the Seat Belt Warning Light to turn on while unbuckling and off while re-buckling the seat belt. It may be necessary to retract the seat belt.
4. Turn off the engine. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.

The Enhanced Warning System (Belt Alert) can be reactivated by repeating this procedure.

Note:
Although the Enhanced Warning System (Belt Alert) has been deactivated, the Seat Belt Warning Light will continue to illuminate while the driver's seat belt remains unbuckled.

Does anyone know how to disable that annoying seat belt chime that keeps going until you buckle up? Its real annoying!!If you'll read the section in the manual that descibes how to do this, it works. But, I had to repeat it twice. The first time the buzzer continued to sound. My point being, if it doesn't work when following the procedure layed out in the manual, try it again. Good luck.

PS: I used the procedure in the regular GC manual as my GC SRT8 did not come with the SRT8 manual & I had not received my SRT8 manual then.

The instructions listed in the owners manual are not correct, here are the revised instructions that will appear in future manuals:

DaimlerChrysler does not recommend deactivating the Enhanced Warning System (Belt Alert).

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and buckle the driver's seat belt.
2. Turn the ignition key to the run position. Do not start the engine.
3. Wait for the seatbelt lamp to go out.
4. Unbuckle and buckle the seat 3 times within 10 seconds ending with the seatbelt buckled (be sure the seatbelt light cycles on/off while buckling).
5. Turn the ignition key off and a single chime will be heard to confirm the programming.

--------------------------

Please keep in mind the seat belt chime will not sound until the car is driven for 60 seconds, so after performing the above procedure, please confirm you have turned off the chime by driving the vehicle. Once the chime is disabled, the seatbelt will stay on solid if the seat belt is left unbuckled.
