Did anyone buy and install these OEM parts? The dealer sells them for the other WK's and I believe that they will work for the SRT8's. I am thinking about getting a set seeing that now that I am lowered, the plates may help protect the bottom end especially with winter around the corner. Don't know what you may accidentally drive over.

I have the front one on my WK. It took about 3 minutes to remove the factory one and swap in the steel one.
I did it because I have that quickdrain oil valve and wanted to make sure it was protected.

Does it affect ground clearance at all? I know the ones on my ZJ did, only 1" or so but on the SRT8 you don't have near as much room to play with!

It was an exact replacement for the plastic one on my WK.
Only difference was about 10 lbs of weight.

Hmmmm I think I will go for this. How much did this cost?
Is there only one piece? I thought that there was a 2 piece option?

I think in total there are like 3 pieces for our rigs. I only have the front one installed.
I think I paid 50- bux at the dealer for it.

You lowered a WK or a SRT8?
Factory doesnt provide any steel skid plates as standard.
What we have been discussing is replacing the plastic splash guard the factory provides under the engine with a steel OEM skid plate. This will protect the oil pan and front end.
Jeep also makes 2 other skid plates for the WK. One for the gas tank and one for the T-case. I do not know whether these would work on a SRT8.
If you may be interested in the 2 other ones, I would call the locvaldealer or an internet one and ask about fitment.

They should fit, but the t-case skid requires the gas tank skid as they hook together.

Any pics of what it looks like by chance?
EDIT: Just found some pics.
