: DUB SRT8 at LA Auto Show (on 22s?)
split2112 12-11-2006, 12:07 PM Hey guys,
Just got back from the LA Auto show and the SRT booth didnt have a GCSRT8, but the DUB booth did. Just thought you guys might like these pics. Looks like 22s but i could be wrong... This was right next to a H2 with 30s...looked like a wagon.
ps, anyone know where i can get those head light fixtures for my silver??
split2112 12-11-2006, 12:09 PM Also, I dont know if you can see in the first pic, but the suede part of the seats inside are red to match the car as well.
The lights just have been painted or covered in vinyl. There are a few folks ont his board who have done it.
As for the wheels, I believe they are 24s. Looks great to me!
Ink Pump 12-11-2006, 12:26 PM They left the stock antenna on - surprising!
the stance is killer. I dig it.
Mango 12-11-2006, 03:34 PM aweful
....
I know I'm in the minority, but until there are other options for antenna, besides rm360s, I'm sticking with stock too. I just can't get the feel for the billet ones. I had a car many years ago that had a retractable antenna that broke, with one section still sticking out-- it looked exactly like the billet ones :) That's why I can't go that route.
PsychoSRT8 12-11-2006, 03:45 PM i was at the LA auto show on saturday around 4pm i saw that srt-8 GC; nothing impressive IMO, i was expecting it to be spotlighted a lil more. :(
cumadogg 12-11-2006, 04:15 PM didn't like the look too much

See anything here you might like? Maybe a black powder coated one in your height choice to match the wheels? Just a thought.

split2112 12-11-2006, 08:46 PM psycho, I was there at the same time...

8" is too short, but I love that black, and think I may get a 15 incher. Thanks for the link!
Street WK 12-11-2006, 11:12 PM Nice. I have a 10" billet chrome now, but I broke it while cleaning the Jeep :(.
I just bought this one. I'll post pictures when I get it in.

Ohhh thank you!
Got the polished antenna with laser etched flames! =)
Stickman 12-12-2006, 02:34 PM I saw the DUB GCSRT8 at SEMA and asked about the mesh grill. I was told it would be sold by MOPAR but I can't find it yet. Anyone know if it is available yet and where?
ChrisWK 12-19-2006, 03:13 PM That is what I want is that grille mesh. I had some like that on my 99WJ but the stull company was not on planning to make it for the WK. If that is from mopar I want it. Keep us posted
Chris
Krush 12-19-2006, 09:14 PM Wow, I usually like Dub rides, but I really don't like that GC at all.
smoove7410 12-19-2006, 10:17 PM they are 24s.
HoustonSRT-8 12-19-2006, 10:29 PM Why not just cut and shorten the factory antenna?
ctsrt8 12-20-2006, 06:10 PM i think they look cheesy, just my opinion,
SRTJeep 12-20-2006, 06:32 PM I like the "Furnace Filter" grill filler! Wheels look SICK! Not for me. MO Gene

This DUB grill looks very much like the RaceMesh product, I wonder if RaceMesh did the LA DUB SRT8 pictured?
Here's a pic from the racemesh site - you be the judge - looks the same to me.

squigmang 03-06-2007, 07:45 PM are those wheels dropstars DS03??
Street WK 03-06-2007, 08:41 PM haha, Sean John... You crack me up buddy.
amaze139 03-06-2007, 09:29 PM Yes those are 24" wheels and they are the Dropstars DS03's. I had them on my truck and it looked identical to the Dub Edition truck but overall I didn't not love the wheels. They do portrude farther then they should on this truck, and the ride is much harder. It is not very comfortable to drive around to be honest with you. It looks good just sitting there, but if you want to do 24" wheels, do it the right way and have a multi piece wheel made to fit correctly and flawlessly.
mike123 03-07-2007, 07:58 AM I got my antenna from this place 6" black great to deal with

I don't even own one of these vehicles, but the first thing I thought after checking them out was "I wonder if you could paint/tape-out the lower part of the headlights to make them look round..."
I'd like to see some pics of this done.
Thanks!

I didn't do it, but let's keep this post up near the top and hopefully those that have done it will speak up. In my eyes.... to do this right (getting rid of the amber) you need to completely reshape the headlight housing, and do metal work to fill in that area. Or pop open the lights and remove the amber. Anything short of those two is a temporary fix if you ask me.
RonConcept 03-07-2007, 12:45 PM HERE'S WHAT i'VE DONE TO MY HEADLIGHTS, HOPE IT COMES OUTI'M NOT TOO GOOD WITH UPLOADING PICS
maxxjeep 03-07-2007, 02:42 PM I like that!
Is it just a well done paintjob?
RonConcept 03-09-2007, 08:03 AM Maxx, It is painted them the color of the truck, but not right on the headlight itself. I fab-ed a piece that fits perfect, used double sided tape to attach the piece to the headlight. As far as an antenna goes I filled in my hole when I was working on the fenders when I mounted 07 Escallade side fender vents. as far as my antenna goes it will be remounted on the roof with a short black one like some cars have it. not sure if I will mount two or one, still thinking about it. Many more cosmedic mods to follow, I feel that the truck is great power wise as it sits now, just a CAI will be made to operational thourgh the low profile hood scoops. Thats the only mechanical mod I will do.
Ron
Ron-- I'm very anxious to watch your creation grow. I like your antenna move. In the past, I've relocated my antenna to the inside of the A pillar. I think I like your idea better.
RonConcept 03-09-2007, 10:01 AM Ge, Things are going along well so far. I'm happy with the perfomance of the truck. fast enough for me. among the other mods i'm doing is, side vents, hood scoops [2] that run from back to rear, the grille and hood will be one piece, the bumper will be reshot so the painted texured part is as smooth as the rest of the bumper, the same grille will be painted and put next to the foglights, the headlights are being fitted with projection lights with halo's on the headlights as well as the fogs, xeon in all lights in the front, LED's on the back, as well as grilles in the rear bumper. just to name a few things. next the interior! I should be done in the next week or so, just waiting for the scoops.
Ron 07 red rock gcsrt
RonConcept 03-09-2007, 10:10 AM Sorry I guess I don't know how to upload more then one pic at a time, heres one of the headlights without the work done just the covers.
Ron
The headlights look great. I'm definitely interested in seeing the hood. What scoops are you using? Will it be functional? Going to be very interesting seeing the hood and grill all one piece. Sounds great. I'm waiting anxiously for someone to create a functional hood.
My interior is the current project for me, but can't wait to get something done to the hood.
Oh yeah..... I like what you did with the stock grill. Nice work!
KMeloney 03-09-2007, 11:11 AM Ron -- The lights look great. Thanks for sharing.

maxxjeep 03-09-2007, 11:50 AM Awesome! love the look of it thus far, so much as to ask..what would it take for me to get a set of those cover fab'd up for mine? :D
split2112 03-09-2007, 07:46 PM I really like that headlight mod...looks great
