I have a 04 GC with the small screen nav unit, i love it when i use it. Here is the thing, Should i spend the money (about $1200 bucks) on the stock Nav, or just get the srt8 with the srt option, and get the TOM-TOM or Garman. I can use tom/tom or garmen in my wifes car when we go on a drive. What are you doing about this? any input would be great, thanks Pchief

Navigation is great! The model offered on our SRT8 is not top-of-the-line, but I sure like it. However, if transferring the unit between vehicles is imperative, you might want to consider a portable model.

I love the NAV...especially when in unfamiliar area's. Also great for locating attractions, restuarants and gas stations. Would not own a vehicle without one. Now if only I could get my wife to actually turn it on instead of calling me when she is lost.

Today while backing out of a parking lot after getting lunch, I was looking at the screen and glancing at my side mirrors. Nothing showed up, then I heard the tell tale "bump" sound of my bumper hitting something. Just as the bump sound was heard, the backup alarm from the radar went BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. Better late than never I guess.
So, be warned...there is a delay in the backup radar sensing lol

Wow man.... Was it a three Martini lunch? In broad daylight, between the back up camera, looking at the mirrors, and the sensors not warning you.....maybe you should go forward only...... heh, heh...what'd ya hit that you could not see? So far my sensors are working correctly. Anyone else experiencing the "delay"?

actually when my warning signall went crazy i immediatly hit the breaks and put it on park w/out moving forward, got out the car to check how close i was and i had about 5-6 inches only from the parked car. usually when my sensors go nuts i check and i have about 15-20 inches room. so it's not ALL THAT accurate but so far so good =)

I ordered mine with the nav but it arrived without it. The dealer was very accomodating and offered me the unit at his cost($1500.00);) or an additional $750.00 discount for my trouble. I already had a Garmin which is great so I took the discount and I use my portable nav. I am going to use the $750.00 to upgrade speakers and the dash.
