yea it was up temescal for you guys who know the santa monica/ palisades/ malibu area. Basically its a half mile hill, and we were both next to eachother at the red light. i smoked him off the line and he started catching up about half way but my beast pulled through and clowned him :)

Did he know you were racing? LOL...just kidding. I'm not sure we can take a z06, but I am pretty sure we can get most off the line because I am sure they are hard to launch and get the 0-60 times they claim for the z06. Good job either way!

Agreed.....;) Most people with these types of cars give them bad names on the Street and Strip due to not being able to drive them. SAD. What can you do though. The real car guys know the truth., like us.:D

Nice kill. From a dig the Jeep will pull a car length on the Z06, before the 8th mile the Z06 will walk the Jeep like its standing still. This is assuming the Z doesn't spin, but with 325 series tires on the back its not 'that hard' to launch one, considering first gear takes you to 60mph.

From a roll, you're toast, stick a fork in you. Also, please specify year and model of the Z. The 2001's only had 385hp.

i raced one and stuck with him in first gear but as soon as he got into second he was gone we raced from like a 5 roll so i could power launch it but i was surprised i could stay with him that long

Not true... A z06 can easily pull a 1.7x 60ft and rape you in the 1/8th mile bone stock... you can beat a lot of cars because of that launch but to say 'about anything and everything' is a bit naive from what i've been seeing.

That is why I said and I quote "the driver is the biggest factor of all" and "to a point" sure a Z06 is capable of that. The problem is 90% of Z06 drivers are not. Anyone can get the most out of the Jeep each and every time; there is nothing tricky about it.

My buddy has an 04 ZO6 24 hours Anniversary edition. Beautiful car. Just has a full Borla exhaust. We haven't lined up yet BUT he did take me for a ride and that thing is ridiculously fast. He has been in mine also. We both agreed I 'd get him off the line but he would catch me and walk me for sure. Just look at the weight difference alone.

Nope...I am saying that at the extreme end of the spectrum *where you guys get well into the 12s* it's not close... you can take the bad runs if you want... it's still not going to be close. I know some of your guys think the SRT8 GC is the fastest thing on earth in the 1/8th so I figured I would put it into prespective...sorry if living in reality makes me a troll.

It all comes down to the driver. Last week when I was at Great Lakes Dragaway I lined up with a Z06 and beat him. He ran a 13.8, but that was his 2nd. time down the track with the car. Before the night was over he was running a 12.6's and improving.

Here's a video of Tony's jeep SRT8 (InfernoSRT8) vs a Z06 last year at ATCO.
I think up to the 1/8 the SRT8 was in front and soon after the Z06 just flew by...
Fast forward up to 2:30 for the race, before that they were waiting for them to clean one of the lanes I believe.

I was there that day and everyone was talking about that race.
