: Alright, Did the Deal tonight
SpeedRacer333 12-09-2006, 11:44 PM Well,
The first dealership almost laughed at my under-MSRP offer. Black, fully loaded, etc.
Ready to give up, just dropped in at another dealership on the way home, after some wheeling and dealing, got a steel blue fully loaded (BUT NO NAV!) for a good deal under MSRP. :D
Reality has not set in yet, getting a little buyers remorse now, but that should go away when I see my baby in sunlight tomorrow. Got a lot of reading to do now, goodnight all!!!!!
Did see a couple of paint drips (as expected) and noticed when I got home a weird transmission noise, like something is rubbing?
timster 12-10-2006, 04:21 AM Congrats! Hopefully everything is okay with the trans and paint.

Congratulations. You're gonna love it. You and I think alike in terms of our vehicle choices. As you become more and more acclimated to the little driving differences in the two cars you will be surprised how this thing will handle. Similar to the M, but like a brick on steroids. Wonder what the rubbing noise is. Can you be a little more descriptive? Good luck, and enjoy.
Mango 12-10-2006, 06:46 AM Congrats! I'm glad you found one. :)
SpeedRacer333 12-10-2006, 08:12 AM Thanks for the welcome! I'm very proud to say I own this vehicle and happy to be a part of this community.
LOL! Teda, you just gave me my sig slogan "...a brick on steriods!"
Sorry, the noise is between a whine, like when a water pump bearing or torque converter goes bad and a flywheel slightly rubbing a cover. I'll give her a good exam (checking fluids, etc.) today.
And I love the brake squeell! It really make you appreciate how performance oriented the SRT team is!;)
Congrats on the new beast.
9900rpm 12-12-2006, 12:28 PM Can I ask what you paid for it? You said you got it without nav, but everything else, correct?
synoil 12-12-2006, 02:52 PM Did exactly the same thing. No one here in the Detroit are
going under MSRP. I was driving and spotted a brand new
dealership, they had a black SRT8 they had just received
from the factory, 6 miles, took it for a spin, became putty
in the salesmans hands but offered about 1,500 less that
the out the door price and they said OK. 45K total OTD.
Everything except NAVI just like yourself.
I am very happy..

Ink Pump 12-12-2006, 02:58 PM Welcome to the SRT ownership experience. There might be some smells and noises from these vehicles but let's face it! there is nothing else out there that comes close to the experience.:D
Whenever I have any "buyers remorse" I remind myself the other two vehicles I nearly purchased were both $30 -40K more. Test drove the Range Rover supercharged and the Porsche Cayenne. Great interiors but are they really worth that much more than the SRT?;)
Have fun - watch out for radar
SRT8fan2 12-12-2006, 09:09 PM The whining noise could be from the driveline. Mine does it under medium acceleration, I am hoping to get it fixed by the dealer. There is a TSB for what I have on my 06, I am not sure if it (TSB) is supposed to apply to 07 or not.
Mango 12-13-2006, 05:38 AM Nice one. Sucks that you didn't get the Nav though...that means no backup camera either. I couldn't imagine NOT having both. BTW in NJ my sticker was $47,890 and I paid $43,500 after rebates, etc.

You guy's are making some good deals!
Yeah, I wish I got the navi w/camera, but if it still bugs me I'll add one later. As it is now, when reversing at night, I can't see jack out of the rear window (not sure if it's the angle of the glass, tint, or both) but can see clearly in the mirrors. I hope the park assist is sensitive!

Is that the GCSRT8 w/SRT1 option group, no nav, no rear DVD?
