: newbie needs advice
mikeydooodie 12-09-2006, 03:16 PM hey guys,
im planning on picking up a new SRT8 before christmas and was just wondering if you have any advice for me. colors, trim packages or what not. also was wondering what some of you people paid for yours and if you can leasing or financing dos and donts. ive been on the market for a new car for a while and i absolutely fell in love with this machine. i live in the nyc area so if anyone can refer a dealership to go to as well that would be greatly appreciated.
thanks a bunch
mike
shodanusmc 12-09-2006, 04:10 PM Option Package 1, Navigation and Sunroof. 4 colors to chose from.....I have Steel Blue. Paid around 43K for mine which was about $2000 under sticker for an 07. Not a good truck to lease. You can find decent financing in the mid-5's if you look around.
Black_SRT8 12-09-2006, 04:13 PM Get the color of your choice, because you have to look at it everyday.
Happy Driving!

the silver one looks real nice .. black is just too hard to keep clean
Theft 12-09-2006, 05:14 PM Was going to get the black one myself but they didn't have any. They got me the red one which I did not want. But man I tell ya this one just pops. Why do you think the red one is always used when they are reviewing the cars in magazines or on tv or on the internet. RED, thats the color man!
MNBob 12-09-2006, 07:55 PM Just get one! You will be really pleased with it.
I don't think they lease them. I have all options of my 2006, except rear DVD.
Ink Pump 12-09-2006, 09:24 PM RED - it changes color in different light. Its like having a different color every day. Black is great but too hard to keep clean and all the other guys have black.
Be different go for RED or Blue!
Any way according to some threads the paint doesn't stay on that long anyway
Have fun:D
9900rpm 12-09-2006, 10:07 PM To the OP. If you're looking for a new black '07 GCSRT8 with the SRT 1 option group and sunroof, I know of one. It's some ways out. I can probably get you a deal on this one. It does NOT have navigation and does NOT have the rear DVD. Has the rest of the stuff though.
Get in touch with me if this is something that'd interest you. I was gong to buy that one, but ended up ordering one with rear DVD and navi.
timster 12-10-2006, 04:34 AM I know a dealer in Massachusetts that has 2 Steel Blue Metallic Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8s in stock the last time I checked. Both with Option I and Nav. I got mine from them for $950 over invoice a couple of weeks ago. PM me for details and I may be able to set you up with a similar deal.
FastJeepSRT8 12-10-2006, 11:20 AM the silver one looks real nice .. black is just too hard to keep clean
That may be true but it looks so sweet when it is clean!
I obviously have a black '07 with all options. My daughter is 4 so the DVD is great and we have realy enjoyed the NAV on some of the trips we've taken. My best pitch though for this vehicle would be performance and saftey. I don't know if you read my thread yet but I avoided a potentially serious accident last night because of the handeling and performance of this vehicle. It is amazing!! Just drop the hammer and get one you won't regret it. As for the color I think Ink Pump had it right, it's going to come off anyway. ;) Now that was funny. :D
mikeydooodie 12-10-2006, 04:03 PM for the people that financed ... what are you paying a month and how much of a down payment did you put down? i have about 20,000 dollars i can play with but im new to this buying a new car thing so i dont want to get ****ed around
PsychoSRT8 12-11-2006, 03:15 PM ok color doesn't matter as much... red black or silver they're all perfect colors for this specific car... i have black. i love how it looks but i think you see more of the cars details in silver or red. ok as for leasing, i just went through this last month. i wanted to buy the jeep at first but i heard a lot of negative feedback about "jeep" from ppl around me (which ended up being not true) but it still maid me cautious so i decided to lease it with an option to buy. i paid 3,000 down (including 1st months payment) plus 795/month including tax for another 38 months. now that i've had the truck for 3 weeks i wanna keep it so i'm waiting for my 1st bill then i will contact the bank and ask for the pay off price. here's the thing if you like to change cars often and you drive 1200 miles or less a year than lease it, if you like to hold on to your cars than this is DEFENATELY a car to keep!! btw the settlement price for my '07 FULLY loaded was right around 45,000 +tax. good luck
PsychoSRT8 12-11-2006, 03:18 PM and as for down payment obviously the more $ you put down the less interest you have to eventually pay.
mikeydooodie 12-11-2006, 05:10 PM hmm sounds good to me im goin to jeep soon .. working 15 hour days 6 days a week gives me limited time to go but im trying to get all this done by xmas
ill definitely let you guys know how it goes down :)
