Srt8's owners plan on keeping ur jeeps longer than three yrs? I have a habit of changing cars about every three to four yrs. i was thinking about adding the extended warrenty to 7yrs/70,000 miles, don't know how much that would cost to add. I want to see if i can get free oil changes for life from the dealer. My wife asked me if i buy this jeep, how long would i keep it? i told her this would be the one i would pay off and keep for a long time. How much $$ to maintain the srt vs a jeep GC? My lease is just about up, so far i paid for all Oil changes, and brakes once in three yrs.

The extended warranty is around $2300.

I plan on keeping mine for a long time but I will not be buying the extended warranty until the standard one is just about to run out. Here are the prices for Maximum Care that I received for the SRT8 GC with a $100 ded:

Probably won't keep mine for more than 1-2 years ... something better and faster will be out then.

I'll probably get the extended warranty pretty quickly. There are some good vendors out there for them, and the Maximum care warranty provides first day rental, so that when you have a warranty claim, the rental for the first day is on them.

Who knows what will happen in the next coming years? Keoto Treaty scares me some as if passed this will mean the end of muscle cars, $5 a gallon gas prices or more. The largest economies in the world (USA, China, India) refuse to sign the Kyoto Protocol becuase of the strain it would put on those countries. However, as you said, the protocol is becoming more of a reality.

I usually get a new car every year. I think the jeep is a keeper as it makes a great daily driver/winter beater.

Challenger is a possiblity, who knows? I hope they bring it to the 07 NATS this time? (prototype) Where it needs to be displayed, maybe some test drives? GL (J) Gene

Never kept anything past 18 months for the last 10 years. BUT I think I love this Jeep so much this may be my first long term whip.

I just figured out using the same rate of increase from the last 10 years that Gas will be $10 gallon in 10 years. Will we still run SRTS???

I think the extended waranty makes good sense for the SRT8. Hell just the oil change alone hits you for $80-$100.
