: '07 GC SRT8 vs '07 ML63
Mrdredd 12-02-2006, 12:53 AM Hmmm... raced my friend tonight who's got an '07 ML63.
GC SRT8 - off the line, and low end up to about 80-90~ - takes the win
ML63 - high end comes up quick, passes, and keeps on going fast
Did about 5 runs, both from a roll and from a stop ... same results ... low/mid SRT8; highend ML63.
Now to get supercharged or turbo'ed and get low, mid, high and super high range down pat. :)

im surprised by the outcome
ML weighs the same, has the same amount of torque, a lot more horsepower, and 2 more ratios. I still expect to see ML63s doing 12.8s and 12.9s once they are in the hands of owners and are broken in.
Mrdredd 12-02-2006, 10:30 PM ML weighs more actually
how much more?
i looked up the figures awhile ago and the source i used stated the difference was within one hundred pounds (ml500 vs wk overland)
Black_SRT8 12-02-2006, 11:46 PM how much more? (ml500 vs wk overland)
300 lbs. more. 5100 lbs. total.

How do you compare your car with the SL55 ?
Mrdredd 12-03-2006, 08:31 AM the SL55 would murder it and the ML
My SL dyno's at 442RWHP and 516TQ
I like the Jeep because its AWD for low traction situations, its quick, i can carry 3-4 people, and I can still jump curbs or elevated obstacles when needed.
I do not like that the Jeep does not have adjustable air or hydraulic suspension or any off-road capabilities.

How are you able to jump curbs in the Jeep without damaging the rims, nose or suspension? The extra stiff suspension coupled with the run flats is very hard on minor bumps/potholes on the road. I would be very nervous trying to jump a curb like I used to in my Pathfinder. How many curbs have you jumped and how high were they?
Mrdredd 12-03-2006, 09:47 AM The Jeep is higher than most curbs ... I haven't come across a curb that was to high for it ... you've also got to know how to hit a curb to get on it ... you can't plow straight onto it, unless your going really slow
I've done a bunch of curbs ... I even hit a curb on one side of the truck at about 30mph which made my radar detector and scanner fly off from an anchored position, and my passenger fly up and hit his head even though he was wearing a seatbelt.
No damage to rim, suspension or any part of the fascia.
Like I said you need to know how to hit them ... otherwise you run the very real risk of breaking a control arm, axel, etc
My post wasn't to get people to try and do it, please dont because you'll most likely f*ck up your truck.
