: Greeting from Japan
hideakimura 12-01-2006, 09:02 PM Hi team,
I'm hideakimura from Japan and am currently owning '03 VW Golf wagon and '93 GMC Typhoon.
Got 2 kids and Golf and Ty are not big enough, so looking for another car then heard Chrysler Japan start to sell GC SRT8 here in Japan.
I know the price here is overpriced compared in US but someone said because US car in Japan is sold with all options and aslo GC SRT8 in Japan is converted in RHD like Aussie's.
Anyway I'm going to go to the dealer today with digicam and I'll post some pics later.
Thanks

Unless you drive up in an expensive car, or pass a credit check -- they will not let you drive it.
No one here in Houston will let you drive a new GC ... atleast not unless you have one of the above of course.
No one wants to buy a new car that someone else has ragged on before, or that has miles on it, atleast not the people buying this type of car.
SPRING Dodge still has a red 2006 with 11,000 miles on it ... they MIGHT let you test drive it ... i had no problem, but I pulled up in my SL55 one night at a whim.
I would NOT go for that red one though unless they drop the price down to $34-$35k ...
I got my new 2007 with 9 miles for $42k, they are trying to sell their used one for $42.9k
I got mine from River Oaks Chrysler/Jeep off I-59 ... I would NOT recommend that dealership though ... bunch of money hungry, penny pinching jews. (actual jews).
As an example: THEY ONLY FILL THE GAS TANK HALF WAY ON A NEW CAR PURCHASE ... no, not a mistake - was told this is NORMAL. The owner does not allow them to fill gas tanks up, only half way.
PLUS, mine was filled with regular unleaded not even premium.
Try and deal with Mac Haik ... they might have one, or can find one, or can order one from factory.
SPRING Dodge and River Oaks = do not deal with except for maybe a test drive. Will save you some frustration
Mango 12-03-2006, 06:47 PM I drove up in a Jeep Liberty, at a Jeep dealership that had an SRT 8 sitting for sale. I was driving it 10 minutes later WITHOUT a salesman in the car. I handed them my drivers license, and took it out for about 15 minutes.
This was at a dealership in south jersey.

lol, do you realize that you're driving a jeep...albeit a fast one? don't get me wrong, it's a nice jeep. and at $45,000 (avg.) it's on the higher end of the price range for jeeps. but it's not like you're trying to test drive a ferrari or lamborghini.
i can see their reasoning as to not letting every tom, ****, or harry drive it and thrash it. but again, it's a jeep...not a rolls royce

Street WK 12-11-2006, 11:08 PM many cars sold in the Japanese market use "aftermarket" stereos, straight from the dealership. i.e. you can walk into a dealership and buy a brand new Jeep with an Alpine navigation system (b/c the US navi products don't work there i think)
the Skyline 350GT (which is the Japanese market version of my Infiniti G35) comes with a double-din sized opening in the dash standard instead of the integrated Bose/climate unit that the US cars get
as for the trim panel in the pic you posted... any competent car stereo shop could probably make you a custom trim for a double-din sized aftermarket navigation unit (Alpine, Pioneer, etc etc)
SI_G35Coupe 12-12-2006, 12:50 PM Street, did you just Copy/Paste my response from the thread over on the blue (i guess it's more orange now) site? lol
