We finally got some snow here in Chicago late last night. Took the beast out this morning, drove it around without any serious issues. Tires were ok, not the best but very drivable. Again this all depends on how much experience you have with driving in the snow. The only issue with our trucks and the snow is ground clearance. I had to drive it down my driveway very slowly and when I did that it did get stuck.

Gotta echo the same thing GFsrt8 is saying here. With some winter tires this thing would be a tank. Ground clearance is my open complaint. Not as good as my Audi or Braphoon in the snow, but not many vehicles are. :p

Well, I have been snowblowing and plowing for 2 hours, and took a break. Have about another hour to go. My street which is not heavily traveled in not plowed, and has to be at least 12" with drifts, so the Jeep will get a day of rest. But yes, it handled good last night when I was out in 1-2". The clunk from the ESP sure is loud, as I got on it a few times just to get a handle on how it handles. Unless the snow is over the fascia, I will not hesitate to drive it. After today, Townhouse living is starting to appeal to me!

Godgather ( bows head and kisses the ring), why the hell didn't you offer that last night!

They finally made a few passes on the street, but tonight we will let my wife do the driving...the Jeep will rest up. You would not want the E55 this weekend.

What burb are you in?

Here in Vernon Hills, IL got lots of snow as well. I trully enjoyed driving the truck in the snow. Plowed through thick snow without a problem with ESP on. The only time I was temporarly stuck while driving up the small hill covered with black ice. I just threw some fresh snow and continued going!!

Gotta love the SRT8

Seems like we have alot of people from Chicago here with trucks. We should all get together sometime for drinks and share kill stories.

Let me know! Rohrman Jeep!

Drove it today over several icy and snow packed roads. No sweat as long as the snow height is not over 7" Stopped fine, ESP works well, good traction...just need to be aware, and not go crazy.

I'm in Addison. I just kept flooring it everywhere to see what she does. Handles pretty good w/ the traction control.

I was on duty at the firehouse during the snow storm here in Peoria. When my shift was over at 0700 hrs, I couldn't leave. The depth of the snow was about 12". Luckily, the Fire Chief ordered all personnel to stay at their stations because the guys that were supposed to relieve us couldn't get to work. Even after my relief did show up, I had to wait for the Street Dept. to get a snowplow down the driveway at the fire house before I could get to the street. Once I did get on the road, the GC drove just fine. The streets weren't really plowed, there was sort of a travel path to follow. No problems. However, we did get the fire truck stuck twice going on calls.
