mortimer 08-22-2008, 03:17 PM Congrats and nice work. The turned-down exhaust was definitely ugly!
Can you explain that hitch setup a bit more? That's a 2" receiver, did you have it custom made?
Jeep Trick 08-22-2008, 03:19 PM Looks 100% better, be careful with the trailer wiring and the exhaust
JohnsonSRT8 08-22-2008, 03:27 PM Any pics of the underside??
lovablechick101 08-22-2008, 03:29 PM ya i went to a guy in Idaho and had it set up. he said the one i had was junk and it was. i don't know how he did it exactly i can take pictures of the undernieth if you want me to. i do know that they had to take the bumper off and change around the exhaust because i had the mopar performance exhaust put on as well. i really like it and it's growl has improved.
NeverFastEnough 08-22-2008, 03:46 PM Much better! :bigthumb:

RetroMan 08-22-2008, 05:41 PM Not sure if you all saw this thread but I'm curious what other towing folks think about the hitch I installed. Let me know.

WBSRT 08-22-2008, 06:22 PM That looks so much better, I think if any of us saw you on the street with those ugly pipes we would yell at you , lol . Good Job !!!!
RetroMan 08-22-2008, 06:26 PM Lovable, didn't mean to hijack. Your rear looks much better now ;)
lovablechick101 08-23-2008, 02:13 AM retro man that tow kit looks like wallie, you know from the movie. LOL i like it though, the guy didn't want to do that IDK why. Mike SRT8 with the CAI....... i am compensating for what i usually get to see. LOL JK
HoustonSRT-8 08-23-2008, 10:51 AM I think that being able to somehow slide those turndowns on while towing might be beneficial.
lovablechick101 08-23-2008, 10:09 PM i tried taking pix but just couldn't get a good angle on it from laying under it. ya don't think that you can just slide those in but i'm going to get a 2-4 inch drop for when i tow i think that would be better somehow. they had to modify the muffler pipes to angle down gradually so that it would make room for it, it's a tight fit but looks good, just wish i could have gotten the acually tow hitch only visible when it was in use.
RetroMan 08-24-2008, 07:20 AM If the concern is heat on the drawbar and the trailer while towing, my set up has the ball almost directly behind the exhaust tips and after a 4 hour tow, the first few inches of the trailer were hot, but not to the point of pain when touched. After sitting for 2 minutes it was only warm. Not sure if there is a longer term issue with heating and cooling of the metal. Clearly, sliding on the downward tips will fix any issue, but unless you're towing on a daily basis, I doubt the heating/cooling will be much of a concern.
Get$$$Man 08-24-2008, 09:08 PM I like that hitch. I was going to buy a jetski recently but I was turned off because I dont have a vehicle to hook the trailer up too. I haven't liked the hitches for the Jeep yet
RetroMan 08-25-2008, 08:36 AM Mine works great with a Jet Ski. Just used a standard 2" drop, 1/2" rise drawbar (using the rise side). Jet Ski trailer was perfectly level. I'll try to post a pic tonight.
