Tomorrow I am taking the Jeep in for the oil change and to try and get something done about this squeeling back brake. The oil is easy...every 3,000 miles. I know I have my work cut out for me with the brake...but I will try!!!

When I drive in the rain ( I live in Washington and the last week has been horrible) when in auto-stick or in drive, my jeep slips like it is going to spin out when I accelerate from a stop. My boyfriend says it is just all the torque and I am not used to driving hot rods. But, he doesn't drive the jeep so I am hoping someone here can tell me if this is normal? I am not romping on it, maybe I am being a little aggressive, but is this normal?

Thanks,
Jodye

Yes, it is normal, you can step on it just a bit too hard and it will break traction, but will get it back quickly...I like doing it around turns!

There is a TSB for the rear brakes.

So it will slip sometimes even with a light foot if the road is wet?
I appreciate your answering. I was worried that maybe something was wrong. The other day it slipped around a lot and then the yellow traction control light came on. I guess I should have realized that I was just having fun:):)
Thanks

I have had it to the dealership for the TSB, but the the noise returned. I mention it everytime I take it in and I have called Chrysler, but they tell me it is normal. My question is...if it's normal then why is the sound only coming from one brake? Wouldn't at least the other rear brake squeel?

Yea, Matt is on point. Just today I was sitting at a light, minding my own business and when it turned green I still chirped the wheels. Not to mention the tires are a suck but you get the point. The TC can also activate if you go over a hill too quick or have a bank turn with too much lean. On the track the instructors drove the truck like a rally car in fact. Was quite impressive. Good luck!

Do you switch vehicles a lot or is it you Daily Driver?

I have no trouble driving in the rain provided I have a light foot, the only time I'll get wheel slip (not spin) is when I get on it in a straight line or make a u-turn and get on it. It shouldn't do it at every stop unless you foots not so light.

I can answer all your questions exactly (better than these bozo's), however I require you to email me at least ten (10) pics of you. http://forums.offtopic.com/images/smilies/fingersx.gif

I had this TBS done (replaced pads) and it solved the squeal problem for the most part. I get a slight squeal noise once in awhile from the rears but it is MUCH better than before. fwiw...
