: Pulled Fuse - Still No Fun

So I was looking at the pics from idealrides post on his new tires, and I decided I wanted to have some fun for the BBQ party I was at. I decided to pull the fuse under the hood labeled "ABS Pump" and all the lights came on like expected, but no burnouts. I couldn't even chirp the tires. I even tached it up to ~2K and all it did was hook and launch harer than ever.

Whats the deal? Did I pull the wrong fuse? Was it the "ABS Valves" fuse I should have pulled? I also noticed no difference in acceleration either, and shifting (in D) was exactly the same.

Any input?

It sounds like you pulled the right fuse... but it's not a Porshe Turbo where you can dump the clutch and light up all the tires. If you're on nice clean hot pavement you probably won't get any slippage at all. When I did the 4 wheel drift, I accelerated up to a decent speed, I don't know maybe 20mph, then floored it as I turned the steering wheel, which forced the tires to break loose and light up.

If you do this in a commercial parking lot, try to be respectful and not do it by the entrace to a store... find a place in back by the loading dock, or off in a rarely used corner, preferably late at night when nobody is around. And get it on video and post it!

OK. Makes sense on the 4-Wheel Drift, but isn't this essentially what the GS Motorsports ESP Switch does? I saw no benefit whatsoever.

I have the GSM Mod switch installed on my GC SRT8, The stock ESP pulls back on the throttle to keep wheel spin under control, with the ESP disabled this does not happen. I perfer during performance driving to control all the throttle available. If you try driving with the fuse out for a while you will definately see, hear and feel the difference. Be careful though, even with the ESP button depressed the ESP still has major control of this SUV. if you get into a little water in a corner it can be a handful in a short amout of time. 0 to 40 comes amazingly quick to these rides, in a wet turn the tires get to that speed even faster.

It is nice to know that I can switch everything back and enjoy all the modern safety features during the day to day grind of normal traffic.

Thanks for the input KH. The only place I would use this is at the track. In my situation, I think pulling the fuse at the track only would be a more cost effective solution than purchasing the GSM switch, for the results I want.

I'll have to pull it out again when I am alone. That day, I had anywhere from a total of 3 to 6 people in the car at all times. (Yes, 6. Still hauls ass.)

Pulling the fuse is definately the most cost effective way to go, the GSM Switch is for convenience only.

Don't forget to unload the groceries, home improvement supplies, soccer gear and other SUV related cargo for the ultimate "haul'n ass" fun.

Ain't it amazing what 420 foot pounds of torque can do to elevate the fun factor without having to drive a stripped, empty vehicle.

No radio delete option for me. I want to haul ass and watch an occasional DVD too!
