Hello everyone, newbie here, just put deposit down on a silver srt8 over here in the UK, very happy, one thing though......and I know this topic has had a bit of an airing already so forgive me: what is the definitive answer on the tow hitch? My dealer says that there is a US hitch but that it is not type approved for the UK (and won't be).

Does anyone know if there is a US official hitch or are our American cousins fabricating there own?? My dealer doesn't even know if the srt is pre-drilled for one underneath?

The annoying thing is that the uk jeep site has a towing weight for the srt of 1350kgs....why work that out and not produce a hitch?

I don't need to tow anything but I do need the ball for mounting a heavy duty bike rack.....any info would be appreciated.

Anyway, hello to all and I can't wait to get the 8 and drive it into central london just to piss RED KEN off!

Regards Simon

There have been several custome fabrications for more serious towing, but if you are only going to be using a bike rack, there are a couple of direct bolt ons available now. Search hitch, and also check this link and read posts.
