I tried to have some fun in the snow but it was hard... too many cars around and no big open lots since it was in the middle of the day. BUT, this does hook up pretty damn fast in the snow!

yeah... it doens't seem like it though. Once I saw the video it made it seem like I grannied it down the road. I had my foot on the brake then floored it.

I know, I had just woke up and saw it was snowing. Don't worry, once it starts snowing more here I will get a lot more and better videos. No more snow dusting runs.

No way! Thats amazing. Last time I got caught in snow I fishtailed and almost died. Not a GC though....

Do you guys find that when you punch the gas like that in the snow that the back end spins alot before the torque dumps to the front tires and suddenly throws you in the seat?

On occasions I've spun my rear tires right through intersections before the front tires even started really grabbing.

Last night driving in the snow... when it got worse, I found that a lot of the times I was driving and the front end would seem to catch/stop and jerk me forward. Especially when I would turn left it would kind of catch. I'll have to see if it is doing it today. But, it kinda worried me.

Yeah, mines been doing that since new and I'm wondering if it's normal. There is enough of a delay that my rear end is sliding all over the road, I've had a few close calls because of it.

You can't judge it from that. Wait for the deep stuff, sluch and ice....

We got 8.5" of snow and its -8 right now. I think that works for deep stuff and ice...

That thumping and then the fronts catching is normal. Doesnt sound very good when it happens though. I cant wait to get some snow over here. Silver, did you have all seasons on the STI in the winter??

Looks like we are going to get 6 to 12 inches of snow here in chicago between this afternoon and tomorrow. Perfect conditions to check out the handling of our beasts.

And you will be on the high side of that amount, and probably somewhere around 15" would be my guess.

I dable a bit in weather forcasting and dynamics. The way the storm system looks now, you will have a fairly quick hitting storm up there, but may see some thunder snow and rates of 3"/hour at the height of the storm.

Get out and let us know how she handles Godfather

Yes and I'll get that same storm a days after you in Chicago. Although we already had an early lake effect storm 6 weeks ago and I was suprised how well the SRT handled. That fairing(and the 7" clearance) seems pretty flimsy to me and I'm concerned about hitting some hard ploughed snow. Well I guess we're going to find out pretty soon

I will be more concerned with my Snowblower starting. I am also in the Chicago area, and will be out in it tomorrow.

Where about in Chicago shodanusmc?

Barrington Hills. My big concern is making it down the drive way to the street. If my snow plow does not fire up, I will just borrow my wifes truck. Always been a NW Burb guy, but born many years ago around Fullerton and Sheffield.

B.H. is a very nice area. I go up there alot as I have a friend that works in S. Barrington right by the AMC off of 90.

Suprisingly there are alot of srt8 in the chicago / nw burb area - I have already seen 2 blacks and one silver in the last 2 weeks. Hell, even had another 07 park next to me today. The snow will help alot in testing the limits of the breaking system and also the traction control-in preperation for rush hour traffic.
