Do you get the folliwing reactions?:

The blank "what is different with that SUV" ; or

The regular GC owner wondering why his doesn't look like that?

Oh, and I have a problem with the rearview mirror; headlights suddenly become tiny pinholes behind me. Should I take it to the dealer?:)

Everbody have fun with your SRT8!

Hmmm, I think people spot the differences, pretty quickly, at least on the exterior. Which isn't to say they know what this thing really is...

I had a guy stop right in the middle of the street this morning, in his Tahoe, to inspect this thing! Including sticking his out the window to listen to engine, to then give me a thumbs up! Ever seen a sober, grown man salivating with a huge grin his face, during a morning commute to work? It wouldn't surprise me if he's calling Jeep delears right now!! :D

Here's an interesting experiment, and I've only done this once, because I drive this thing and I can't usually see the drivers in the right that I'm overtaking... Get another driver (it's only temporary ;) ) and sit in the right backseat, have the driver overtake traffic in the left, and just check out the drivers in the cars you're passing. You wouldn't believe the looks this thing gets! By the time the rear door is flush with the driver's window, on the right, you will notice some heavy-duty gawking!

I've recieved nothing but great compliments and questions about power and whatnot from other Jeep drivers and otherwise. Heh, one guy with a 5.7L Hemi wanted to trade Jeeps!

Enjoy your Jeep, Dave! :)

I have kind of a newbie question, but since I've never actually seen an SRT8 at night, and I don't take delivery of mine until Thursday.....well I have to ask.

Do the euro lights in the back bumper actually work? The rear fogs. Are they on on the time when the lights are on, or do they light up when the breaks are applied, etc. How exactly do they function?

They don't function at all unless you tap into a live circuit for them. Strictly act as reflectors although bulbs and all wiring is there. Search the forums and you will found plenty who have activated them in different ways. They are only functional on export models.

The truck really get's "that" much attention?

I mean its aggressive looking, but the way people make it sound....it could be a Lambo. :)

My buddy called me on the cell last week and he was following a Red Rock SRT8. I knew because he said it was red and I asked if the lower rear bumper vents were painted (they were).

His comment "I have to tell you, its a cool truck....but it doesn't look that much different than a standard GC." He also said "maybe if the rims were clean it would look better."

I'm not saying what I'm reading is false or untrue, but just a bit surprising.

I was driving to Portland from Seattle down I-5. Somewhere along the way I picked up a tail gater who followed my every lane change, every accelleration. Then I get 2 more tail gater's of the rice gener who tailed the first guy behind me in his older Blazer. That was about 200 miles of having serious tail gaters. It was all fun though, and not once did any of them attempt to pass me. All I could think is that they wouldn't pass out of respect.

My neice was riding in the back one evening and another driver was spooking her cause she thought he was staring at her. I had a hard time convincing her it wasn't her he was staring at.:D

I drove to Pittsburgh and back today at high speed total 300 miles

Got a lot of looks. Of course stopped to get gas because the tank is too small. One guy said to me when did they start putting Brembo brakes on Grand Cherokees?
Stopped for lunch at Bob Evans and another guy said to me what the !@!@@ kind of Jeep is that?

I said "A Fast One"

Driving back the other night from picking up some takeout and was at a stoplight...guy pulls up in an older 300C and his passenger starts gawking and pointing. light turns green and I slowly pull away, he follows then pulls all the way into other lane and asks me to roll down the window. His words.." so...does she MOVE?". Oh yeah she does I reply. He asks how much HP...before I could finish saying ...power, lights turns green and I step on it, he dissappears in rearview. I slow down at the next light to turn, he passes honking with thumps up...

The guy in the Tahoe stopping in the street was extreme, I haven't seen a move like that since I've owned it (6 mos.), and who knows what he was thinking... :D

The comments don't come every day, to be sure. But they will from time to time, to be sure. More so, in my experience, from SUV owners in parking lots, gas stations, etc...

As for the back-seat experiment, it surprised both my brother-in-law and I how often drivers will stare over at your Jeep when you pass them... Perhaps it's the air dam/huge, low-pro front tire that catches them off guard... But look they do! Try it. ;)

Went out Sunday night with the wife to do some Christmas shopping for the kid. I was behind a white Nisan 4-door sedan with twin pipes out the back, sorry don't know the model I wasn't paying that much attention (Maxima maybe?). Anyway we were on a two lane road so I couldn't get around him. At the light we both turned on to the highway and I blew around him. In typical fashion he busted his butt to catch up to me but could only get behind me at the next light due to a semi in the other lane. Light changes and I start to go to see what his intentions were. As soon as we cleared the semi I saw him jump in the other lane and go for it. I nailed the gas and just watched his headlights get smaller and smaller. He finally caught up to me and stayed just behind my door so I couldn't see him. My wife was cracking up though, she said this guy was just drooling over the jeep and pointing with his buddy. He finally pulled up next to me with the window down and his freind yelled "Sweet!" and gave me the thumbs up. Yea it really does attract that much attention! :D
