WBSRT 08-08-2008, 09:26 AM It hit me again today while getting ready to turn my keys over to the Jeep service dept. First off i HATE giving up my keys to anyone, let alone the Jeep service dept. 2nd I make sure my car is clean b4 i take it in. And 3rd i try and wait for the work to be done. Well today i went in for my driver side Fac HID issue, it started to flicker. I figured it would be quick to fix, Heck no. I got there @ 7:30 am @10:30 im still sitting there. I have to get to the office, So i asked whats the issue, service said they need to figure out if its the HID or the Ballast. How hard can that be. SO i was forced to leave my GC there and take a loaner, Dag i hate leaving my car. And Check it!!! My TBSS is still sitting there on the lot. Price is now 23k it was 25k they gave me 22k for it.
Almost forgot, I asked if putting the Mopar Corsa Exhaust would void my warranty , They said not if the dealer installs it.

They give you a loaner and the dealership would only be making $1k on your trade?
I'd be pretty happy with that.

WBSRT 08-08-2008, 09:40 AM My Driver side HID changed color to a purple Hue two days ago, then yesterday it started to flicker, plus the two bolts for the brake duct cooler's where never put on, Shes three months old.
YoungMedic23 08-08-2008, 10:02 AM I could have gotten u replacement HID bulbs with built in ignitors for $120 in the color of your choice to get away from that ugly stock yellow......
HID's for ur fogs?......$75.....for everything
on ur own with the brake duct lol

Bro i have an 08 i know very well what the lights look like....they were ugly and had a yellow/purple hue.........UGLY when compared to aftermarket bulbs in 6000k or even 8000k as pictured below

If u do fogs it's difficult to find fogs to MATCH the factory bulbs...people usually go lows and fogs same color from same company for best matching.....

I'm running 10k lows and 8k fogs right now.....
i had i 6k from Xenondepot and love them but too white for me......but great output....
slapped my 10k lows back on and BAM got 5 compliments the same night and everybody wanted to contact me later..
10k lows and 3k fogs would look sick!
My 10k lows are dark blue and my 8k fogs are light blue due to the fog housing

Yep for the lows it's just a simple bulb swap....takes me 2 mins
You need the D1S bulbs........

Not trying to "hate" but you have got to be joking. Factory HID are the purplish white tint. 6000k is really pushing it. It's starts getting blue.
The difference. All 8000ks look like are ricer bulbs with the high beams on. Seriously. Remember when changing just the bulbs to "xenon" was the trend. Well I cannot, nor can anyone I know, tell the difference between a ricer bulb on high beam and an over 6000k HID setup.
There is a reason nothing from the factory comes higher than a mid 4000k (from my knowledge). It looks the best to the most people and it puts out the most light without going yellow.
Pictures never do factory HIDs justice. The viper has HIDs factory and I have maybe seen 1 or 2 pictures where they actually look like HIDs. They just look like halogen projectors. But whenever you see it in person they are as purple an as bright as it gets (while being legal).
I would rather floss halogen any day over some 8000k HIDs
WBSRT 08-08-2008, 02:43 PM Update to my service visit, after 7 hours it ended with service ordering a ballast , and a Pass side rocker molding, the part that scared me was when i told them about the missing bolts on the brake cooling ducts, they said there are no bolts it comes that way!! OMG!!! I told them they are mistaken there are bolts and they are missing, come to find out they where looking in the wrong place, WTF !! 7 hour's to do nothing but put greasy finger prints on my hood, So i have to deal with them again when the parts come in. Not sure if i'll every go back there after this visit, Then dude in service remember'd me from my TBSS, He told me he took it out one w/e and how fast it is, WTF!!! I bet he beat the heck out of it.

Paul, are you not using the HIDGATE bulbs anymore?
I still have the 8000k laying around thinking about doing them next week... I heard some fishy things lately, wondering if I should just leave my factory lights in... Of course mines an 07 no HID's :(
OurZoo 08-09-2008, 12:38 AM I know you're pain. I'm dropping the GC off at a dealer I don't even know in a new state, and flying out of state for 3 days and leaving the GC with them. :( I'm definitely recording the mileage in my phone.

That's all opinion my man....most guys on this site went 6000k and up for that light blue look......and looks best to them
I have a tinted windshield so all light output looks the same to me
Have fun with halogens bro.....and run with the grain......not against it....it's safer ;)

You KNOW he beat it up to hell......sucks dude.....if you're done going there give them a knockout with some bad ratings....ou have every right in the world to express how unhappy u are....
