There will always be a TBSS VS Srt-8 thing! Kinda like Mustang VS. Camaro (we all know tha Camaro is the winner :) )

Until there is another SUV tossed into the mix the TBSS and Jeep are the closest things to true american muscle SUV's... the Porsche doesnt count becasue it costs as much as a small house in some areas :( I like the competition personally as long as everyone has fun with it! I always look forward to seeing a TBSS when im driving the Jepp and I always look for Jeeps when driving the TB!

I hope you were referring to SRL. You'll notice most every TBSS owner in that thread gave props to the SRT8 stock vs stock and from a dig. But, its common knowledge that the LS2 has a much larger pool of aftermarket parts to up the ponies, thus making it relatively easy to make the TBSS faster (in a lot of cases, faster than most GCSRT8s, even modded).

Stock vs Stock---> GCSRT8 (always)
Modded--->TBSS (most of the time)

Another classic line (there is abouth 50% truth to it) Don't let some of the GC SRT8 guys know we can compete with them for only $600 in mods. A good portion of them think their rides are unbeatable. His avatar is quite yummy :D There is nothing better than a friendly rivalry-i try to get every tbss that I come across to try to run with me-I just like having fun...personally i think that SRL's Saturn is really gay:outofcloset: and is just trying to copy both the SRT8 and the SS. He should just stay in his saturn and buy neither...

chris does make a nice intake but his product has never been on this TBSS....this TBSS only has custom fabed intake pieces from ADM Performance.....

and i do have a few trips around the hot rod block that date back to the 80's and MUCH further in family roots......and as i see it this TBSS/JGC8 or JGC8/TBSS is finally getting interesting and alot of fun......FINALLY

the aftermarket is all driven by tuning....if you can't tune for it then the product/part is USELESS....now that there is software to SCRIPT custom tunes and product manufacturers are devoting time to the JGC8 community EVERY JGC8 now has the ability to surprise......and to me this is the GOOD part it is always a great treat to see another enthusiast with a STEALTH badass ride.....i KNOW mine is GD fast and if yours runs with me win or lose i can't wait to find out what you have done and the path that you took.....

the path is sometimes as telling of the person as the results......FI, NO2 or MOTOR or combination......it is always a treat to me to hear all the steps in the process.....mine was not a single step or trip.....that's what it's all about to me get out there put your stuff down and shoot the shiite about what you have done and what you still plan to do.....this all started for me april '07 when my wife surrendered the TBSS to me......if you would have told me then that i would own what i own today i would have checked your temp for a fever for you are suffering delusions but all the same here i am and the story is pretty damn funny and makes for a good FISH STORY.....

but all things being equal i love the fact that as soon as ANY TBSS owner (OR ANY HOTROD OWNER FOR THAT MATTER) ASSUMES anything about the next JGC8 he pulls up against it will be that MONSTER that just cracked off that 11.1X.....and that is just fuggin awesome to me.....i know exactly HOW DIFFICULT it is to move this mass down the track and you guys have it more difficult than i being that the jeep weighs more and is AWD.....so go buy some heads and cams and motors and nitrous and blowers and turbos and get em TUNED, dialed in and go bust some unsuspecting fuggers arse with it.........and bring em out to the local car meets and TELL FISH STORIES.....that is how i like to view the whole enchilada.....

SRT8 4 J

well said.......I just love cars in general...WIN or LOSE... I don't care if I get smoked by somebody as long as they are cool and we can talk about Mods and such... An owner's personality goes a long way. Another aspect to the whole mod thing--BUDGET-- Obviously some people's pockets are deeper than others. I'm just happy to own a SRT8 and do a few "cheaper" mods to it. Ask me when I was 18 if I could have ever owned a vehicle of this caliber today-I'd have said "hell no". Well here I am today, I have one and feel DAMN lucky.

coming from a TBSS with a Corsa, dyno tune, and K&N it would take a lot more to come close to the GCSRT8. Anyways, it wouldn't even matter if you got a TBSS as fast or faster. They really are not built nearly as well. The GCSRT8 is much more refined. It just does everything better. The sound of the 6.1 SRT8 blows the 6.0 SS away. Not even in the same league. The SRT8 is intoxicating. Not like the UPS truck sound of the LS2.

I've shopped around a lot of trucks. Like I've said before, I'm not sold on the GCSRT8 yet. I'm not sold on a TBSS yet. I've even considered a V8 SRX or modding an FX35.

One of the big things that lead me more towards the TBSS was the certified pre-owned and ease of finding them. There's like 10 CPO TBSS in my area, as opposed to 1-2 GCSRT8s. GCSRT8s get traded in at other brand's dealerships more than the TBSS's. Probably due to the layout of the GM branding "strategy".

I realized that certified was the way to go, you get a longer warranty and better financing, with an "inspection" and whatnot. Either that or new.

It's kinda ridiculous to get on my case for shopping around. You do research into the cars you're interested and find things you like and don't like about each of them. I'm not digging the need to mod the TBSS to keep its tranny from imploding. I dislike that to even consider towing on the GCSRT8.

In a week I'm going to test drive the SRT8 and the TBSS back to back. Researching is only good for so much. The hands on experience will be the biggest part of the decision.

There's no reason for it to start any kind of flame war or big dispute. Everyone knows how they rank stock, and how they rank modded all depends on how much you put into them.

I don't see what's wrong with researching multiple vehicles. You're more than welcome to hate me as much as you want. I don't see why, but whatever. I just want to be able to race the Black SRT8 here and hang.

Like i said before there's now a black SRT8 SUV in town that I want to be able to hang with. If its in a modded TBSS, a stock JGCSRT8, maybe even one of the SRT8s. My girlfriend really likes the interior on the FX35 so I even gave thought to a heavily modded one of those.

At the time I wasn't considering the TBSS, I wanted only the SRT8. But between the difficulty of finding them CPO around me, and my own impatience, I expanded my search to other trucks.

If you consider me untrustworthy, that's your own choice. It doesn't affect me either way. After all, it's supposed to be a forum about people who like the trucks isn't it? And choosing between the two trucks is a very tough choice, they're both excellent, but the SRT8 is more of everything, its a matter of if it's "more enough" to justify it.

Dude, keep your Vue and forget about it- if your starting to loook into FX cars (ultra luxury) then the SRT8 is not for you- the GCSRT is meant for high speed gearheads that love the feeling of a race car with the ability to haul 5 people and gear- I dont care what I feel about you affects you or not, im just saying you shouldnt play people that give you honest opinions then go to the polar opposite group and talk trash about how you need a TBSS and how to beat us and what not- yes, the forum is for people who like the car, not ones that want to figure out how to beat it in a TBSS- and as far as your more enough comment, it is more money, more power, more looks, maybe not more mods but were getting there...just watch what you say on these boards- youre coming across as a person whos out to benefit himself and will take the opinions people with a grain of salt- as I said earlier- stick with the vue or get your infiniti- you dont seem like the gearhead/speedfreak type that populates this forum.

I guess I'm a terrible guy because I looked into other trucks. Oh well.

I've never talked crap about any SRT8s (except the one with the really really ugly 24s, but I'd have said the same about any truck like it, regardless of what it was). I don't know where you guys are getting all this me "talking crap" stuff from, I just want to get people's opinions on the trucks.

Fact is, at this point the SRT8 sets the bar performance wise for trucks. If you're going to aim for something performance-wise, what else would you aim for. I was trying to find out how much money has to be put into a TBSS to make it on par with the performance of an SRT8, and how much the difference in cost between the modded TBSS and the stock SRT8 was. If the difference in price was negligible, then there'd be no reason to get the modded TBSS over the GCSRT8. I think that's pretty rational thought.

But that's fine, you're more than welcome to hate me and think however you want to about me.

Like I said your free to do all the research you want just remember the internet can be your friend and your worst enemy at the same time just post wisely and it will all be good. Whatever you decide on I wish you the best of luck, if it were me and at your age and stage in life I would just keep the VUE and wait until I know for sure you can afford what you want and not have to worry about paying for it, yeah it sucks as the grass is always greener on the other side but look how many are having to sell their Jeeps do to current circumstances.

Are you joining the dark side? I've never seen you show regret for being nice.
I've always been on the darkside...I just hid it well! I have been a bastard too...I am not always nice!!!!
NAH he's always been a little off
Really, no come back to that, it is true!

Your TBSS thread started....how do I beat a GCSRT8....not, how do I get a TBSS on par with a GCSRT8, how much must I spend in mods, etc....

But that's fine, you're more than welcome to hate me and think however you want to about me.
Thanks for your permission!!!!!

Let me add though, I don't hate you, I just don't like you much anymore and will never stick up for you agin!

Maybe you should look for something more within your reach?

I personally dont see anything wrong with the SRL I imagine it drives nice, Saturn has always had a good rep and good gas mileage.

It was "what does it take", which mods, and then I can find the cost of those after. Most guys with the SRT8s have intake/exhaust or more, so beating a stock one would let me run equal"ish" with a lightly modded one.

As far as my car... it does get OK mileage, but the ride's not that great. Imagine all the harshness of a sport ride, but with extra body lean. No door dings though, polymer panels.

Talk is cheap. Dude hasn't even test drove either car. How long has he been on here?! Until you've at least driven either car stop frontin'! I have no prob with someone wanting more info to make a decision, BUT why the constant comments on all the folks selling their Jeeps on this forum?? What does he know? Stop frontin' and go drive a car already. You're only gonna know so much till you drive the freakin' cars. If he wants the tbss, fine. If he wants the Jeep, awesome! How hard of a decision is it? Good luck.....

Are you sure? I thought you said the TBSS was the best car you ever owned?;)

I would never say that. The Best car I ever owned was a 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. Loved that car.

It just gets my goat a little how he came in here, respecting our Jeeps and being pretty cool, acting interested and all that. While almost everyone was nice to him, answered questions and such....then goes over to the TBSS site and his first question is what does it take to beat us in a TBSS. I bet he could have got that question answered here if he would have asked it the right way. Not saying there is an issue with someone on both sites....just seams like a bit of a stab in the back....just my $.02.
