My local Tesco has finally decided to offer 97 RON Super Unleaded, has anyone tried this, and if so, any difference in MPG ?

There are a number of fuel related threads on the site. Most of us here in the states are using 93 if we can get it. The consensus seems to be the higher the better in terms of performance. Assuming the 97 you mention from Tescos is calibrated the same as in the US you should get great performance. That must cost you a fortune. How much is it?

The UK manual for the SRT8 advises to use 98 RON unleaded.
"Normal" unleaded here is 95 RON, and "Super" is either 97 or 98.
BP says it's Ultimate fuel has other additives that make it cleaner burning.

Now, you guys over there, sit down and get a stiff drink ready.

Tesco normal unleaded is $7.48
Tesco super is $7.84
BP Ultimate is $8.19

All prices per UK gallon, which is about 20% larger than a US gallon.

Any YOU thought running an SRT8 was expensive over there !!! LOL
