: Lost my wedding ring!
sentipede 08-06-2008, 09:36 PM Well, I was running out of the house and grabbed everything on the counter and threw it in my pocket. Anyhow, I jump in my car and I heard something metallic fall in between the drivers side seat and the center console. I spent 30 minutes with a flashlight and hanger and couldnt find a thing...
Any ideas?

Crookster777 08-06-2008, 09:50 PM Under the drivers seat there is this little black plastic piece mounted to the floor that has a hole in it. You got to roll the seat all the way to the front to see it. ??????????
OurZoo 08-06-2008, 09:51 PM Come on, we're all boys here. Tell us how you really lost it!:D
silverbullet 08-06-2008, 10:22 PM THIS is why it's a good idea to have a back-up replica of your wedding ring!
"No honey, it's the same ring. I just polished it"
Grip Grip 08-06-2008, 11:21 PM You might need to pull the seat.
bridam 08-07-2008, 12:13 AM Congrats!!!!!
Matt McKenzie 08-07-2008, 03:56 AM If it makes you feel any better, a buddy of mine lost his wedding band while we where in Afghanistan. He was jumping out of his vehicle, and was grabbibg onto the mirror to help himself down, his ring popped off and flew onto the side of the road and down a ravine somewhere never to be found again. The really bad part about that, was that the ring was still on his finger!!!!! Needless to say, he can only count to nine on his hands now, LOL!!!
Rick G 08-07-2008, 04:25 AM I've been married 5 years and have never worn my wedding ring.
Told the wife before we got married that I would not ever wear it.
I just don't like jewelery.

sentipede 08-07-2008, 07:09 AM lol, thanks guys. i spend another 20 looking for it...it's gone. i may try to pull the center console and seat this weekend. does anyone know what is involved in pulling these? I assume the seat only has the 4 bolds.
As for the center console there is one bolt under the cupholder, and five screws - 3 on the drivers side and one on the passenger side of the rear console...am i missing anything else?

WOW, really.....this is a forum of friends, we post thing like this often, not just Jeep stuff. I rember when I had neck issues and had surgery and posted it, had nothing to do with the Jeep, but the support was there. There have been many postl like that.....does it alway have to do with the Jeep? If so, maybe you should just post in those threads. So, I hope he can find his ring and stay out of the least trouble as possible...so yes, I care!
I'd say kill yourself before she get the chance to kill you
WBSRT 08-07-2008, 09:37 AM I care Toooo, the jeep cant go fast w/o a happy driver, lol

$hiet man, he lost his finger? That's why I was always told to take rings off when working with power tools, etc. It may get caught and rip your finger off!
Matt McKenzie 08-07-2008, 10:23 AM Yeah, he did.....he told e it didn't even like rip or tear, just popped off. He didn't notice for a little bit until it started throbbing...crazy. Yeah, like Rick, I am not a jewlery person, sh!t can happen when you wear stuff like that!
sentipede 08-07-2008, 10:26 AM ouch...i guess it could be worse, but who knows what the wife may chop off...

Matt McKenzie 08-07-2008, 10:30 AM Hopefully she won't Bobbit ya...and that would suck if you saw the the ring right before you died...and you would then die, knowing you died for nothing!!!!
promo718 08-07-2008, 10:37 AM maybe it fell into the hand-brake crevice?
WBSRT 08-07-2008, 11:03 AM My Blue tooth head set (the small apple one) fell down there last week, a PIA to get out.
Matt thats funny,
08srt8Calgary 08-11-2008, 11:52 AM Ive dropped a couple things down there and taken forever to find 'em. Twice Ive found the object under the main seat rail jammed right in the back where the bracket bends down and is bolted to the floor. You can move the seat all the way forward and not even remotely see it and can't get the hand and fingers in there. I used a telescopic magnet to finally find it and basically just bounced into it.
My wife would not be happy I had my ring in my pocket and would probably get a "where the f were you going?" line of questioning. Happy hunting.
JJJ93z 08-11-2008, 12:02 PM Just like Billy Madison, you gotta get out there and find that *&^%ing ring!
Billmoe 08-11-2008, 04:37 PM Congratulations....you are now divorced!
sentipede 08-11-2008, 09:37 PM lol, well i finally found it today, and let me tell you it was no easy feat....
1) disconnect battery (negative lead)
2) remove drivers side seat (4 bolts and 3 wire clips)
3) remove entire center console & VES/DVD player (4 side screws and 1 bolt under cupholder)
4) remove ring
5) re-assemble
Mission Accompished!
it fell in between the hand brake and center console and then worked its way into and under the center console...
mortimer 08-11-2008, 10:14 PM Nice man! Glad you found it.
I lost my wedding ring last fall while cleaning some turkeys we shot for thanksgiving. Had a bowl of cold water to wash off the meat, was dipping pieces in the water & then putting them into plastic baggies, and I noticed it was gone. I have arthritis, and when my hands get to swelling too much I often take the ring off my ring finger & put on my pinky if it gets too unconfortable, unfortunately when I do that it's a bit loose and comes off sometimes. I knew it had to be in one of these places:
1. About 10 feet off to the right where I had been throwing the bowls of water/blood after they got too nasty
2. Inside a plastic trash bag full of turkey innards & feathers
3. Inside one of the turkey carcasses
4. Inside one of the zip-lock baggies with the cleaned meat
So, I checked places #1 and #4, held my breath, and dutifully checked places #2 and #3 as well, no luck. Those of you who are hunters know what I'm talking a bout -- turkey innards stink like hell. It was November, dark and cold, so I gave up & figured it was out in the grass someplace & I would look in the morning. Never did find it. I even called the local "treasure hunters" club to see if one of those metal-detector guys could come out & take a look, he couldn't find it either. My wife bought me a new one this May for our anniversary.
Pretty cool she wasn't too mad, although I miss my beat up old ring this one is too shiny

His wife was very understanding....of course if she wouldn't have been in understanding in that situation, I think it would have been time to trade her in for something newer, LOL!
