The $46,616.47 Oil Change and Size-22 Carbon Footprint

Of all the absurdly wealthy men in the Middle East, at least one has far more money than sense and proved it when he had his Lamborghini flown from Qatar to Britain for an oil change.

According the The Sun, the owner -- which the paper surmises is a sheik -- had Qatar Airways ship the Murcielago LP640 about 6,500 miles round trip at a cost of about 39 grand and God-knows-how-much greenhouse gas just to service the car (cost: $7,030.47). "This car doesn't have a carbon footprint," an unnamed airport worker told The Sun. "More like a crater."

....and yet, at the rate they're making money, by the time they get the bill they have already made enough to pay for it 1 million times over. craziness for sure

All this for an LP640. What a waste. Cool car but it is an entry-level supercar at best

It would be slightly more "understandable" if he at least did it with an Enzo, or a bugatti or maybe a CLK GTR, etc. etc. etc.

Come on. We're not socialists here.

If the guy has the bucks to fly his car to New York, weld the doors shut, fill it with Cristal Rose, load it with strippers, and fly it back to Qatar, more power to him! I wish I had that kind of money, carbon footprints be damned.

haha... Lambo with a 6.5 V12 with 640hp is considered "entry level"?? Not to mention MSRP over 300k. I don't think any lambo is entry level, but if there were one, it'd have to be the Gallardo.

Well put.

Besides, 99% of the population probably feels an SUV that hits 60 mph in just over 4 seconds and struggles to get 12 mpg is a bit excessive.

Oh, and I think that after welding the doors shut the Sheikster should paint it orange, put a big "O1" on the door and paint a confederate flag on the roof!
