So I blew a front driver side stock Goodyear the other day getting on the freeway. Sounded like I hit a card board box, and then I saw my TPS go down to zero. Even with the blown tire I still was able to drive home (25 miles) and then drive back out to Tire Discounters (25 miles) with no problem on the runflats.

I ended up getting a new set of 275/315 Lattitude HP's. I got TireDiscounters down to $1350, which included the free alignment and N20. I called every place in town and at one point had NTB down to $1250...but the next day they called me back to severely apoligive on their misquote. The new price NTB gave me was $1600.
I was surprised on how big these are...so far the ride is night and day difference. It seems the harshness of the smaller bumps has almost completely dissipated.
315 with my hand for size compare.

Feels like a completely different vehicle doesn't it? It's so much more enjoyable to drive now, at least in my experience.

Def'n so much better, it actually feels like a different car. Did you have TD fix your camber. My car was out alot, so they reset it to 0º for better tread life. How do you feel about?

Who else finds it likely that the blowout was a result of the front tires degrading at the inside edge (as in the picture below)? I wonder if more of the Goodyears will begin to fail?

Sure looks that way, they should do a recall on these runcraps.

If the Goodyears weren't runflat they would have been off my Jeep a long time ago.

Replaced my Runcraps @30K and the inside edge looked just like the one in the above pics. The inside edge was showing cords so I had them check the allignment and the camber was out but still within the perameters so they reset it to 0. I replaced them with Toyo STII mounted, balanced, sipped and alligned for $845!!! they forgot to charge me for the allignment and the sipping :)) but I love the ride and they look great:D

yep...typical wear for the runflats. Everyone should check them on a monthly schedule.

Wow this seems to be a patern here, I had the same problem with 24,000 miles. Mine was the passengers front  I did have alignment checked and it was withing specs.
