$3600 for the ECU and harness!!! This may be the only option though if DC doesn't step up to the plate.

in the import world the AEM system is very highly praised for its ease of tuning and precise control over the engine. the price direct from AEM is about $2800 so charging $3k for it doesn't seem unreasonable. link to the AEM Universal EMS (http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=63)
i think the domestic market has gotten kinda spoiled with those affordable engine control reflash solutions like Hypertech, etc. on most imports the ECU is encoded and very difficult to crack (like the DCX one in the Jeep) and the only solution is to go with either a standalone or a parallel engine management system.
parallel systems are ideal versus a standalone b/c modern cars have lots of electronic BS that can get angry (traction control, drive by wire, etc). a parallel system lets the stock ECU control everything during idle and/or low boost, and then takes over only fuel and timing control when load increases, leaving the stock ECU to keep the rest of the electronics happy

i wonder how the drivebality would look like with stand alone compare to the stock ECU.
I knew that its not easy to keep having the nice smooth stock drivabilty with standalones! what do you think?
