Well, I had a BBQ over the weekend and my cousin came by with his 05 GTO (he has K&N intake, and his exhaust stops at his headers, Mickey Thompson DR, air bags in the back so he can raise/lower the rear for when it squats, shift kit, and some chip/module that lets him launch harder)
Well, he was washing his car at my house, and we cleaned/oiled out his CAI as well as Throttle Body- well after my friends hear his car, there like Dev why dont you run Rob and Robs like ill kill him and im like I dont know about that- so with that, my Buddy hops in wiht me and my other friend with my Cousin. Heres how it went down:
-Service rd, we happen to catch a Red- he has the time to heat up his DR so there nice and sticky- I preload to 1500ish, T/C is off and I let her rip on green- instantly Im up 2-3 cars on him- he spun a little in first but came on strong- I went up to about 115 or so and shut it down (I was about a car ahead at that point)
-Next light, hes like I didnt get a good launch lets go again and im like sure lets do it- same thing, preload to 1500ish and nail it on green- he didnt have any tire spin this time, and I was about 1-2 cars ahead of him- WOT down the service rd- im at about 105-110 at this point, and theres traffic coming up so I shut down at which point he nose was even with my bumper (my friend was looking back to see where he was)

Needless to say, I was very impressed with the way the Jeep performed- I was sure he would have eitehr been dead even with me or beat me passed 70 we shook hands after, but he was quite pi***d. Another one for the books! :cool:

Its still one hell of an engine- His tires def. helped him out- My other friend actually has an 06 Standard C6 that wants to run. -will report with results.

The C6 will be a good run. Depends on how good a driver he is. I still think my SRT8 can take my C6. Never run them though lol

Hes been driving for awhile, and have gone for many a ride in his- to think of it I dont think hes ever been in my rig- I def think the SRT has that "Neck-snapping" feeling that I love alot more than in the Vette- Hence your sig. We shall see

Man, I'm sorry, but I have a hard time beleiving you busted a 3600 lb, 500hp ride up to 115 mph. I like my Jeep, but I don't think it would keep up with my 368RWHP Camaro through the eigth. Yea the Jeep would dig, but the Camaro is going to blow by at the eigth. I'll race both at the track and see what times and MPH they are both carrying to back up what I'm saying. If I'm wrong I will admit. My 91 Camaro makes 416 rwtq and 368 rwhp on a chassis dyno. The best time and mph I have run on the 1/8 track is 8.30 secs at 90 mph. One tire fire. Spinning halfway down the track. What will the Cherokee run through the 1/8 mile track? I really don't know. I'll find out!

Thought the 05 was the 5.7L-Not exactly the hi-po version. I ran a 6.0L GTO from 70 on. I jumped him a bit , then he slowly pulled away. He ad at least header/exhaust mods.

Its an 05 GTO- Stock, the '05 GTO is rated at 400 Hp and 395 lb-ft- not 500 hp- his mods are a CAI, and his exhaust ends at his headers with DR; believe what you want, but it did happen. I dont need to lie about a kill- as stated in my previous post, I was surprised I beat him.

Nice kill. I would have thought he would have got you with the amount of work he has done. Good job. I'm guessing it was an auto correct? Has the car been dyno tuned?
