Quick question to any mechanics or techs out there. Looking at all those that have installed catch cans, it seems like most people are installing these things inline between the PCV system. I am doing the same as well.... BUT
I have done some research on the net and have found that it is also possible to install the catch can in-line between the breather tube on the air intake and the connection to the valve cover near the oil filler cap! This would most definitely capture the oil vapour as it is sucked back into the intake.
So, which is it? Is there really a right and wrong location?
Food for thought

My installer did it that way. He said you actually would want one on the pcv and one the way you described. Having two would benefit F/I setups best he says. I do know that the alternative method doesn't sit well on this board hah.

Try it and see how much oil you pull, I know mine will fill up between oil changes.
Why not just put a breather filter on the other one?

So you never reconnected it? Its still hooked up that way and your getting no oil in it, correct.
Guess that would answer the question
I could probably fill mine between oil changes

correct. I didn't bother changing it since I knew it wouldn't actually hurt anything and that motor was coming out soon anyway.
