Progressive:D I just hope I don't get screwed at renewal. Had USAA for $1488 every 6 months. Progressive was $999 with lower deductible and virtually same coverage. Never hurts to shop around.

Nice. Thanks for the heads up.

I have USAA also for my home owner's insurance and both auto. Guess I'll be doing a little shopping around too.

Only because I have 3 DUIs and 27 accidents:eek:...I joke...this is New Orleans baby.....where only 1 in 10 has insurance, and we pay for everyone!!!!!

Did you try lowering your deductible with USAA?

I have full coverage on all 3 of my cars with USAA for just under $1100/6 month.

Even if I found a place that was slightly cheaper, I'd stick with USAA because I know how they handle claims and I know how other companies have handled claims. USAA's customer service has been leaps and bounds above past companies.

Couldn't really tell you...but there's got to be some reason it's outrageous here. When I moved from VA I was paying about $1000 for 3 cars every 6 months, same company begins with a "state" and ends with "farm", wanted $2500 for the same coverage. Went with USAA for around $1500. Now only 2 cars and they wanted the same. I had a $1M umbrella in VA for $150 a year...here they wanted almost $800...no more umbrella for me.

Progressive is incredible in it's claims-handling practices. That being said, they keep on pushing up my premiums every year even though our records are clean.

Good to hear. As for the "push up" who doesn't? I've yet to receive a letter from my insurance company saying we're happy to inform you that your insurance is being cut in half and we're forgoing our annual Bahama trip:)

Not sure about progressive's coverage, especially the small details. After I rolled my WJ, Allstate took care of me for a total loss and didn't say ANYTHING about the lift kit that was on there.

I can skip the small print for what Allstate quoted me...over $1900 every 6 months.

I have full coverage on all 4 vehicles with a 250 deductible for just over 2300/6 months at USAA. I had a run of 4 claims within about 12 months about a year ago. Two were my fault (backed over my mother in laws Buick with the F250 and ran a stop sign in the same truck taking out a Dodge Truck and a Ford Focus). What surprised me was the Jag and the F250 are more expensive than the Jeep. I recently sold my SRT4 Neon. It was almost 60% more to insure than the Jeep.

My old '02 Harley F150 was more expensive to insure than the Jeep.

Spotless as far as they're concerned. Now if they learn to pull data from the ECM...I'm screwed.

Same here I wonder why your quoted premium was so high? However, I have over $600 in discounts.

I hear ya on that. When my best friend passed away 3 years ago in a wreck in his E46 M3 we were curious to find out if they were going to release the "black box" info to the insurance company. However we never found out as talking about life/auto insurance with his mom was not an appropriate topic at the time.

I need to look into them also, but like a dog humpin' a leg I jumped on the first good deal.
