Any idea how long I need to wait before I can really stomp on this thing??

You'll need to wait until there is a lot of empty space in front of you. SRT relates that no actual "Break in" is required. Being an "Old School" guy I waited until I got about 1,000 on mine before I really wailed on it.

I think I waited about 1100 minutes. Wait... no way, I think it was on the highway on the way home from the dealership, so probably 15-20 miles on it. Been taking people for "test-rides" ever since, I'm pulling up on 600 miles.

Break it in like you intend on driving it. I'm sure you'll get a ton of reasons why not too, however I have owned some rather quick cars, quicker than most of the same make/model and I have always broken them in like I intended on driving them from day 1.

Manual says 300 miles.

Definitely wait a minimum of few hundred miles, it's not only the engine that needs the break-in period but components like the differentials as well.
