I refuse to pay a cent over MSRP. So, I've ordered mine through Bill Pemberton at Woodhosue Dodge -- they promise MSRP (plus TT&L of course).

Depends on the options on the car. Probably the best way to related it would be $X over sticker.

As ResumeSpeed mentioned, GC's dont get the gas guzzler tax (neither do Magnums) since they are classified as trucks.

....I actually ordered mine in late November, but another local person ordered one 5 days before me....his (black)was delivered about 3 weeks ago, the dealership had to get another allocation from DC to order mine which was the main delay...otherwise, I would have already had it...it is in D1 status last I knew....projected delivery of Feb. 22....

....the transporter damaged the black one unloading it off the truck.....these cars are like Vipers/Prowlers/Vettes, the nose needs a little special consideration when unloading ....they tore the nose loose on the first one, backing it off the ramp....dealer had to install a new front fascia before delivery.......

Hey there guys, just joined today.....I bought my Silver SRT 8 about 4 weeks ago...I was the first owner of one in GA, so they say...Anyway they had it priced at 45,900 with the stage 1 of options on it. Then they had a $15,000 dollar mark up on it. So it was right at $61,000.....I thought HOLY ....!!!

Anyway, we went back and forth for a little while on the numbers, keep in mind it was the first one that they had gotten in that morning, and it was on the show room floor as clean as ever. Then the manager came to me, and said...Have you driven this yet? I said no, it was the first one I had seen in person.....He then said to the salesman around..."OPEN THESE DOORS UP!"
"You need to drive it" SMART GUY!!!! Well that was it, when I got in the car with my parents in the back seat, and the salesguy in the passenger seat..all of us experiencing this for the first time. We pulled out of the lots, and half way down on the throttle, it pulled like a RAPPED APE, and I knew I had to have it!! And when we got on the expressway going about 65mph, the salesman said open HER up, and with that...we got to 120MPH in no time at all. My parents were saying "You're gonna get some many tickets in this"

Well guys sorry for the long post....

But we settled on out the door for $52,000

But worth it!!

This is my 1st post....

I'm looking to pick up a GC SRT8 after I sell off my STi. Where are you guys getting these things at MSRP and at prices slightly above dealer invoice? What actually is the dealer invoice for a fully loaded GC SRT8? I think MSRP is somewhere in the neighborhood of $45,800.

Also, is it true that a dealership cannot put that adjusted market value bullshit on top of the MSRP if you have them order you one?

I'm looking for a silver one with all options. I'm in NJ.

Thanks in advance.

I dont think anyone will be getting any GC SRT8's for "dealer invoice" -- but shooting for MSRP would be a good idea.

As someone else mentioned, the dealer can do whatever they want. Its your choice to choose a dealer who isnt trying to mark up the product on you. You may have to wait longer, but thats what free markets are for. The seller and buyer both have choice.

I'm fairly new here too. My SRT8 is on order scheduled to be built 1st week of March. Its Inferno Red, SRT group 1 , and GPS. MSRP $44000 (don't have paperwork handy). Try and work with your dealership - find one that is willing to work with you. The paperwork given to me actually shows the Friends and Family pricing , along with Employee Pricing and what the dealership is paying. If your lucky (know the owner of the dealership, in my case) he'll give you a deal and a half. :D

If anyone is looking to get a SRT8 Jeep at MSRP (plus tax / tags) get ahold of me. Talking over with the owner of the dealership that I'm getting mine from, they said they will take orders (w/ deposit) on SRT8 and sell them at MSRP , no mark up. Dealership is located in Michigan.

I'm from San Diego and I had a horrible time trying to find a Jeep. I recomend never going to Midway Jeep in Mission Valley. My brother and I went in to buy their SRT and they told us we could test drive the car when we bought it! They were also asking $15,000 over sticker so we told them to @#%& off. I'm in the motorcycle sales business and I swear some salesmen think they are Gods gifts to humanity and forget they are there to serve the customer. I think you guys will appriciate this "deal". One of my local dealers (Lawless Chrysler Jeep in Woburn, MA) emailed me last night saying he has one arriving any day now. Here are the specs and an "offer" I can NOT refuse:

2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8
Exterior: Black Clear Coat
Interior: Medium Slate Gray - Leather Trimmed w/Preferred Suede
Engine: 6.1L V8 HEMI
Transmission: 5-Spd Automatic
6-CD/Full Map GPS Display Navigation Radio
Engine Block Heater
SRT Option Group I
Electronic Infotainment System Group
This is the only vehicle we are getting in stock. Daimler Chrysler is only making a limited amount of these vehicles available and only a certain amount of dealerships are getting this vehicle. This vehicle is selling for $49,630.00

Personally, I would not entertain any offers of grandure with pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. I had originally ordered mine, because I was not willing to pay one dollar over MSRP. I didn't mind the 6 weeks. However, the guys at my dealership worked me into a deal where they were charging me 999 over MSRP, but were willing to give me 1100 towards my LAME ASS 1992 Ford Explorer. Which was frankly unsellable with the broken tranny, 4x4, and high idle.

Quite the upgrade from the Ford, but not quite as fast as my Dakota R/T.

Hi - yes the dealership was in West Seattle. In late December I'd contacted a few of the local dealers regarding the GCSRT8, most told me that I could not order, and if I wanted to place $$ down we could, however none of the dealers would say what they were going to sell the rigs for-pretty much indicating to me that they were going to jack up the price. At least they let me know one was in...and we did get a test drive out of it. The rig was Black, looked awesome, but for us is the least desirable color so that did come into play with how much time we wanted to spend in negotiations...

Just curious, how do you know what cities got what rigs? That's great info, thanks, I'm going to try to pin something down. I was quite dejected when I saw that Washington is only getting 11....but, that just means "road trip!"

That is actually less than the dealer paid, so he/she is losing money.

The SRT I am looking at has a MSRP of $45,590, the invoice price is $42,335, the employee price is $40,583 (Chrysler does not honor EP on the SRT).

I'm sure he means under MSRP. But if not, then he's tight with the dealer or the dealer won't be very succesfull.

As for reality, if you can muster anything under MSRP, take it. But for the next 3 or 4 months, MSRP is about right.

03-16-2006, 06:37 PM
Understood. But if someone on this board has already done business with a dealer, then your chances are even slimmer that that particular dealer will have an SRT8. Many dealers have been one and done with these vehicles so far.

Purchased my red one two weeks ago in NJ area at $1250 under MSRP. Had to work hard to get anyone to deal though. Made the deal and picked it up the next day. Fully loaded w Nav and rear DVD. Funnest vehicle I've owned in a long time - ex audi tt / MB clk320 / volvo s60R owner

There are GC SRT8 s in Jersey and quite a few in silver when I was looking.
I've only seen one other than mine on the road. Ultimate sleeper.

I think it depends on where you buy the vehicle. Some parts of the country have a high demand combined with a tight supply. Whereas other states might not. Michigan has taken delivery of more of these than any other state, and there doesn't seem to be as much demand for them there. I have seen some of these sit on lots for a few months in the detroit area. I paid $1000 over dealer invoice and had it shipped.

We are in North Dallas... The dealership was in a city called McKinney, TX.

I have heard that they are starting to go for over MSRP around here... I guess we got lucky! :)

I paid MSRP for mine, 45850. The dealer would not budge. I was there on a Sunday and there were two more people that came in to look at it. After I drove it, I knew it would not last out the week. So I bought it.

The "11" total was only what Washington dealers have received so far (now 12), NOT the total that all of WA will get for the model year.

Here is a link to an ongoing tally of where the allocations have gone so far:

Sticker price 45,565.00

My best friend from gradeschool is the sales manager... I feel very fortunate... Some of the salesmen were pissed because they wanted to sell it over the sticker.. No problem moving the SRT8.. Ha!

I don't care what we paid... It's f-in worth it..

I dont know about you guys, but the Dealership where I bought my Jeep SRT8 has a new 2006 300C SRT8 for 8000 under MSRP with your own Financing or 3500 under MSRP with 0% for 72 months... I think its around 38K with your own financing.. Let me tell you, it was a tough choice to make...
AWD, Understated power, and more cargo room for 8K basically.
But I still think I made a great choice... Winter time will tell.

Don at Champion Dodge gave me a great deal on my 2007 SRT8. Sticker was $44,900. I got it at $41,900. I paid a total including taxes and delivered to my door in Michigan of $44,054. I would recommend him to any one. The dealers in my area wouldn't come close. They wanted $46,500 for one that less options (DVD). Don was very helpful and no hassles.

warranty. With the $ they put into the 06 Tahoe I traded, I found this to be a very favorable deal. With holdback, the dealer will make money, but no sticker or $$ over sticker, and in and out very quickly.
