: WHY are BMW owners such ****s/*****es?
silverbullet 07-23-2008, 07:12 PM Here is the scoop/rant....
My coworker at the office has been 'bragging' all week about his new BMW 335i 'sport' model. Some co-workers who have been and in my ride were casually mentioning to him that his 'ride' although nice is not invincible and that the Beast can give it a run for his money if not beat him outright.
Obviously he takes offence to this and comes over talking all king $hit and stuff. I causually ask him if he would like to run for fun one day after work and I'll buy him a drink win or lose.
His response? "Umm... yeah, I have the sport model you know with the triptonic. I get bad gas milage and can beat you to boot".
I reply... "I'm just as bad a gas whore and can beat you hands down"
BMW owner: "Yeah whatever, precision German engineering > Asian determination and an American Motor!"
Now what the heck is that all about????
a-kon 07-23-2008, 07:25 PM lol
that's just people for you. unimportant people need to feel important
Grip Grip 07-23-2008, 07:27 PM Run him and do us proud.
Crookster777 07-23-2008, 07:31 PM "Umm... yeah, I have the sport model you know with the triptonic. I get bad gas mileage and can beat you to boot".
Idiot.
Jeep Trick 07-23-2008, 07:33 PM I think its a requirement for ownership.
I wouldn't say that if I had a new M3 though
Just make sure you run him before he can get a tune. A stock 335 is faster than the last M3, and a chipped 335 is faster then the current M3.
Makes me really want the 135 :)
shorestyle031 07-23-2008, 07:36 PM you will beat him no prob
SRTYA 07-23-2008, 08:15 PM My buddy has a 335i coupe, we screw around all the time, it is always a good race but I still smoke his azz. As long as he is stock you got it in the bag. Just make sure it is from a dig like a real drag race none of this ricer roll sh%t.
WBSRT 07-23-2008, 08:20 PM Kick Azzz and represent, then take a picture of his face for the rest of us, lol

How is the FX working out? They are pretty damn nice.
silverbullet 07-23-2008, 09:19 PM He has no mods. I know this for a fact. I will keep trying to lure him into a race. Will definitely post results.
Going to contact Andy for a Predator Tune. Just for insurance!
jstaylor 07-23-2008, 09:43 PM C'mon man, don't be hating the BMW owners!! I'm proud to run my SRT Jeep AND my e46 M3 turbo vert.
Harrison@Stage6 07-23-2008, 09:54 PM Do you know what the difference is between a BMW owner and a Porcupine?
On a Porcupine........ the pricks are on the OUTSIDE!
Allright not all....... but the majority.

i have a 335i m sport put it up against the jeep and it looses every time
tell your co worker to suck on that
mortimer 07-24-2008, 01:19 AM smoke his a$$. Good friend of mine has a 335i, we've played around a few times but traffic was too bad to really open 'er up. He's driven my Jeep and admits he thinks it's faster than his, definately up to 60.
08srt8Calgary 07-24-2008, 04:54 AM You would win anyway, but load up the cmr tune and put some distance into it. After its over offer to load the back with filing cabinets for the next run to make it more fair.
Vinnysrt8 07-24-2008, 06:29 AM u will beat him keep us updates
JeepSRT 07-24-2008, 07:21 AM Being an auto, you will have no problem beating him, they do have some lag and would not be able to make up the time after the launch, but on the highway maybe not.
mikeT 07-24-2008, 07:28 AM get a tune first so it isn't even close.....If he has a tune and you have nothing....he will smoke you!
TutsSRT8 07-24-2008, 07:32 AM It's not all of them... though it is most of them... lol.
CentralTexHemi 07-24-2008, 07:57 AM Thank you master Yoda-LOL
Matt McKenzie 07-24-2008, 08:09 AM This is good though...it is better if they have this kinda attitude, that way when you beat them, it hurts a lot more....take him down....woot, woot, woot!!!!
TutsSRT8 07-24-2008, 08:14 AM Thank you master Yoda-LOL
lol. Sorry. Still in my "business e-mail" state of mind.
most of them are c@cksuckers they think their part of the upper echelon. I own a 7 series as well as a gcsrt and when I drive the seven they are appalled that I'm doing 80 weaving like its a maxima haha

Now if he gets a few mods the odds tilt in his favor...but that's the mod game for you.
DevssrT 07-24-2008, 07:17 PM Smoke him and be done with it!
gpfarrell 07-25-2008, 07:25 AM I think it's pretty academic that you'd beat him from a dig.
I'd caution you on trying a 50 mph roll with him though... the Jeep is quick by not invincible.
Btw, saying that all BMW drivers are ******* or ****** paints all of us Jeep drivers as ****** and ****** too.

Just out of curiosity do have a GCSRT8?
CentralTexHemi 08-04-2008, 12:15 PM Just out of curiosity do have a GCSRT8?
Same here, looks like you only post in the Jeep VS whatever threads what you get it handed to you by one now your curious:confused:

DUDE, as stated above ALL of your posts are about how other cars can beat a Jeep SRT8. You don't have ONE post that's complimentary of the Jeep... Most of your posts, like the one earlier in this thread, reference some article about the other car's speed and how great it is.
Guys, click on his profile and past posts. It's like a who's who of SRT8 bashing and BMW/Audi polesmoking. AND most of your posts are raving about BMW 335's or some other piece of crap German-****box WRX wanna-be kinda car.
If you DON'T have a Jeep, and don't like or respect Jeep SRTs, stay on your own BMW forum. This forum is for kick-ass JEEP SRT8 muscletrucks, and people that like kick-ass JEEP SRT8 muscletrucks...not fur das weinercars.
I know all the magazines say how great your Bimmer is, and you are happy to provide links, but try taking a Jeep on in real life, at a stoplight. Jeremy Clarkson can't save you then...
gpfarrell 08-04-2008, 01:22 PM Just out of curiosity do have a GCSRT8?
I don't anymore... traded it for a BMW. :D
Liked the Jeep and it might have been a better value. It it was a little quicker than our new wagon... about 4/10ths in the quarter.
But we love the wagon... it's got a clutch pedal and to Dinanize it would really demonize it.
Enjoy your Jeeps. I'd never say "Why are all Jeep drivers _____" because they aren't. Neither are all BMW drivers.
CentralTexHemi 08-04-2008, 01:34 PM So what are you driving now. I saw the new X6 in town over the weekend not hating it just very different at least BMW did something about the horrible interior of the X5 as the new X6 interior is very nice.
gpfarrell 08-04-2008, 02:21 PM So what are you driving now. I saw the new X6 in town over the weekend not hating it just very different at least BMW did something about the horrible interior of the X5 as the new X6 interior is very nice.
We got a 535xi station wagon. Yes, station wagon!
It's a 6-speed stick... lots of fun and fits our world quite well. It's a little bit softer than the Jeep. The Jeep was very intense. That's not necessarily good or bad, just an observation.
If we wish it will be easy to turn up the wick on the wagon's twin turbo but we'll enjoy it stock for the time being.
The X6 is interesting but only holds 4 people. I liked our SRT more than the X5.
So far the biggest difference... eveybody asked about the Jeep... nobody asks about the wagon. Again, that's not good or bad, just an observation.
CentralTexHemi 08-04-2008, 02:29 PM Totally understand I have a Cayenne as well and its totally the opposite of the Jeep, we take it out of town and use it for shopping etc.. the ride and interior cannot be matched. I really like the new Infinity FX50
liquiddi 08-04-2008, 05:27 PM It would be a close race under perfect conditions but I guarantee you the SRT8 would smoke that thing 90% of the time with the perfect launch it gets. Car and Driver probably had to drive that thing 100 times to get a 13.5 at that speed. Plus, we all know Car & Driver loves BMW. They jerk themselves off to anything with a BMW logo on it. Oh, and another magazine that came out last month said that BMW was just a tad slower then the older M3. If that is the case the SRT8 will have no problem.

liquiddi 08-04-2008, 09:36 PM I'm sorry but all those cars are boring. I knew I guy with that style M3. Got to go for a spin in it a few years ago. Can you say Boring. All around. The only cool thing I liked about that M3 was the tranny. How you could adjust the shift tightness was pretty cool. Everything else is boring. They just look like every other car on the road.
JeepSRT 08-05-2008, 02:44 PM I took my wife's 330Ci in for service today and they gave me a 335xi coupe, auto, for a loaner. I have to say I am impressed with the power once it spools up. At this altitude, 6500 ft if I did'nt get a good start it would be close.
larryc7777 08-05-2008, 03:37 PM Do the 335s with AWD not launch well? Seems to me like it should be a fairly even race stock for stock. The difference in HP would be offset by the difference in weight. I've heard of the Vishnu kitted 335s running deep in the 12s. I've been trying to find one around my area to race but haven't had any luck yet.

Wow, amazing 300 rwhp can push that car to 60 mph in the high 4's.
I guess all the magazines must test the BMWs on a downhill stretch to get that acceleration out of such a weak engine.

There is no way an M3 loses 190 hp at the wheels.

SlickBrick 08-06-2008, 05:48 PM I just raced a 335i from a 20+ roll and we were dead even to 80. I pulled up to a light with a STI in the middle lane and the 335i in the fast lane. I rolled off the line and the STI didn't nibble. All of a sudden I realize the 335 was game and we were off.
'07 - 180* - 4" woody - trac-off -- auto stick - pred w/91 CAI - FANS NOT SET - I was running around 215* --- Bimmer dude seemed cool - got a thumbs up after.

Depending on Dyno! Location! Fuel! Its easy to see a variance of 30-40 like that. This was a Dyno Dynamics at Classic BMW in Dallas. It is the coolest dealership I have ever seen. Everything is brand new, even the dyno!!! Sucks for my buddy.
He just put a $1700 custom exhaust on it and it feels so slow to me. He also won't race me because he knows the deal....Loser

the messengers stats are contradictive...

all these writeups do not have much weight to it... take it to the street b/c thats where everyone gets true numbers...
