I am starting to think I am the only one :D

My first 08 SRT8 came in brilliant black but didn't have nav so it went back. My second 08 had every option (including polished door sills :) ) but I noticed that it didn't have the speckles in the paint like every black SRT8 (regardless of model) has. I preffer the wet black paint to the brilliant but thought it might be a defect till I searched and found a thread that mentioned someone else might have the same.

So if you are out there...if there's anybody out there..anybody...please, you are not alone :D

Every black Jeep SRT8 was gloss black till the 08's they when changed to brilliant black. It is odd though that your 08 is gloss black.

No, it's not odd at all that your 08 is gloss black. Brilliant black was a mid-year change. I think the first brilliant blacks started showing up in Jan-Feb. I'm sure Resumespeed can corroborate this...

Edit: Also, polished door sills have never been a factory option on 08s - so if yours came with them from the factory, THAT would be odd. My money would be on your dealer having put them on and the price being added in somewhere.

PX8 is the code for the 06-07 and the first of the 08's

I would venture to say that a majority of the 2008's that came in black are the gloss black since Brilliant Black was not introduced until mid January 2008.

I also have an 08 with Gloss Black. I wish I would have got Brilliant Black like in my 07 Charger SRT8. Easier to keep the swirls and defects from being noticable!

My '08 is gloss black, was going to wait for a little while but when I heard they were changing to brilliant black I pulled the trigger, not a huge fan of the flake.

The early 08s were " Black Clear Coat". Then they changed to " Brilliant Black ", and if I'm not mistaken there was a short time where Black Clear Coat could be ordered in place of the Brilliant Black. Now all of the blacks are Brilliant Black.

Brilliant Black = chick magnet... I've had dozens of comments from the fairer sex about how beautiful the paint looks. I don't mind this color at all!!!

The door sills could be installed as a Dealer Installed Option. The GCSRT8 may have been ordered that way and the person who ordered it backed out. Or the Dealer had them installed. On the very early 08s there were still some 07 things being done to the GCSRT8s it was a strange change over from 07 to 08, that being said they may have been installed at the factory.

Most 08's including mine are this color. The change over to Brilliant black as Don stated arrived at his dealership in March.
