Andy's tunes really do help your MPG if you can stay out of the gas pedal a bit. This is after about 50 miles of city cruising today.....

Wow thats great. I have a question though. From what I have gathered, this tune is done with 89 octage gas correct?

So, that means that if you want the performance back as stock, you would have to:

a) completely drain or use up the 89 octane in the tank
b) use the predator to reflash the performance tune.

This seems like a lot of work. I am going to ask Andy if he can make me an economy tune that is based on 92 octane. Therefore, all I have to do is use the predator. This seems easier to me although it's not as 'economical'

Negative...This is andy's 93 performace tune. Something with the settings he ha in it if you can stay off the gas you will see better gas mileage. I know he is working on some kind of economy tune but this is NOT it. this is the tune that makes my truck haul balls

This is great news! I was thinking that to get this you had to have 2 different tunes. I wonder what's the purpose of the 89 economy tune then? Seems more work to me

89 is cheaper than 91/93 and we can eek out another few mpg.

but then you can only run 89 with it correct? Might be a pain in the behind...im hoping with my headers and o/r pipes I can get a few more mpg

No you don't have to run 89 but there's no sense in paying for premium if you don't have to--which you don't. Headers + O/R mids= 1.5-2.0 mpg increase.

Wait the 89 tune will make the Jeep run like it normally would with all the performance?

No, it's not going to be as fast. The idea behind the 89 tune is to save you $ at the pumps by increasing fuel economy and letting you pay for less expensive 89 vs 91/93. You can run the 89 during the weekday commute and throw the 91/93 back in on the weekends or at the track, etc.

The best thing about getting the 17mpg was it wasnt highway driving at all. Mostly back country roads with some city. Highway should be even gretaer

But Andy, what if you tank is NOT completely empty when you switch over? Then you would not have the 91/93 points! You would have less since you are mixing it up with 89 octane. Also, there would be an additional step of using the predator to switch tunes.

I will be getting my predator tomorrow! I have your number and will call you to discuss my needs.

Thanks
