What a story guys..

I was driving to work a couple weeks ago and a BMW M-5 pulls next to me. He was waiting for the light to turn green so he could get infront of me. He had been speeding up and slowing down trying to get my attention for a couple miles. So when we both came to the light, it was that time or no time.

So I punched my SRT8 and he punched his M-5 and up until around 35 he was keeping up with me until my car started to get a nice big lead. I hit my breaks and he flew right by me! I pulled next to him at the next stop light and I said, your car is still a beautiful "Luxury" car. He drove off with a grin.

Next story takes place when I was driving home tonight.
Same thing, but this time it was a couple of "punk" kid's driving a Jaguar S-typeR which is the supercharged series for those of you who don't know.

I only call them punks because of the things they were saying. They were driving like ass holes, cutting people off, speeding up slowing down, trying to race people who were not racing them.. So Then they saw me driving in my tinted out SRT8, which the only mod I have is the Mopar CAI.

We were driving side by side and they were speeding up slowing down, speeding up and going in front of me burning gas is all....
they slow down enough so we could catch the next light.
When we came to a stop I rolled down my window so they could see my face. I asked them why they were driving like that? I mean they had my attention from the start. The kid in the Jagoff says "Ready to get smoked"
So I replied "I'm sorry but after this is all over, your going to feel very bad about your car, Because it's one thing to get smoked in a race by another car, but to get smoked by an SUV will make you feel like ****."

The kid in the Jagoff replied "My car is 80 G's, it's like worth two of yours."
Little does the kid know his car is 48 G's not 80 G's inless he got the solid gold 18k trim option ha ha...

Back to the story. So the light turns green and I got a one car lead on him and all the way to 80 mph, he didn't even catch up. Then I hit the breaks and he did what all losers do, zipped pass me. When we pulled up to the next light he rolled down his window and said something to me I don't care to repeat, just a bunch of trash talking. I replied "how does it feel to get beet by a jeep, i can see why your so upset? You should have given me that 80 G's so I could wipe my @$$ with it. He was so mad he didn't even wait till the next light turned green, he just went right through the red.

God I love my jeep.

his daddy probably told him it cost 80k so he would feel cool around all his other punk ass friends. kids like that give people like me (who happen to be younger but drive a nice car cuz i bust my ass workin) a bad name.

No 1 rule when you're looking for a stoplight rumble is make sure you know what you're up against so you don't get slaughtered and feel inadequate lol

good kill

Great stories. The dudes in the Jag probably stole it, how else could one think their ride is worth double? Hey ya never know.

That S-type R will certainly move but its nothing against the Jeep. I have both and until I bought the Jeep, I thought the Jag was amazing (which it is) but its slow compared to any SRT.

The S-type R is $64K base with options up to $70K.

What year was the M5? Was it the newer 500 HP Version? DId the driver know how to shift. Set it in power mode, amd perhaps you could take him off the line, but once he gets going, he should have blown by you.

The M-5 was a new one.
I beet the guy through 50 mph. Then I slowed down because it was 35 mph zone. I had a half a car lead on him the whole time.
I'm sure if we were all out racing on the highway once I got to 70/80 he would blow past me, but I don't know, i didn't race him up to those speeds. He knew how to drive, he was older and I heard his tires screech when we left the line so he was all out mashing his pedal... 0-60 his car does not stand a chance against a jeep srt8. still a nice car tho..

I can tell you for a fact base on the s-type R Jagoff IS NOT 64K...
But besides, the little **** still said it was 80 G's. Talk is cheap and so was his lame ride no matter the cost.

Yes it is. Check out www.jaguarusa.com. With all options, tax, title and license (assuming he got ripped off and his daddy paid sticker) you could be looking at $72K out the door. If he added custom wheels and a new stereo system, he could have $80K on his hands. Either way, the kid is a douchebag and he got spanked by a Jeep.

Jordo...nice kill....BUT....you might not always have the same result against an M5....good driver, right power configuration, good launch, and those things (speaking v-10 here) can run 0-60+ 4.2 to 4.9 all day long. But don't you just love the feeling when you launch the Jeep and yiou gotta hang on?

There is no way in hell it was an '06 M5. Even on a jump, the M would blow by quickly. 0-60 is 4.5 and it runs an easy 12.4 all day long. Being in the market for said vehicle, I have driven it. My JEEP is nothing compared to its 500 HP.

The Jeep is capable of running a 0-60 in 4.5. From a dig, and during short sprints, the Jeep can hang with an M5.

It can hang with it initially, but after 1/8th, forget about it. Still, when you figure the price differential, the Jeep is a hands down winner. If you want to beat an M5...wait for a rainy day. Also, it depends on if the little performance button is pressed on the M5, giving it the 500 HP.

My wife has a nice X5 4.4, and now she is in love with the soon to be released 08 M3, as long as she can get the convert. I have brought her over to the dark side. As much as I like the SRT, it is not like my E55 or an M5. But consider the weight differential between them. As long as you run against the Porsche Turbo SUV, Mercedes ML63, and BMW SUV, you will smile...

It could have been an '06 - the driver is what matters. I could put my neighbor in a Ford GT and still beat her 3 ways from Sunday in my old 1984 Chevy Chevette.

Either the guy was not racing or was asleep.

I own both and while this is a really fast truck the M5 is WAY faster at ALL speeds.

Unless its RAINING! I agree though, the latest version M5 is faster all around, unless you go from short stoplight to stoplight, or you have an old guy like my driving.

Nice kill! I love reading kill stories, and I love doing it in an SUV. I have had my GMC Typhoon since 15 and I have done some serious whopin. Cant wait to get an SRT8!

Listen guys,

I have never talked about any kills on this site because in the past I see how people can attack the posters of said story. I have no reason to lie about this. I never said I smoked the M-5...
But I did smoke the jaguar big time. The kids even held down on the break and gas at the same time to get more of a jump of the line but it didn't help them what so ever....

As for the M-5. From what I saw, I had a nose lead. The guy driving let it rip.
I can say that for sure. BUT he hung in there with me the whole time. Thats how I know he was racing. If he wasn't, there is no way you can keep up with an srt8 like that just by tapping the pedal. I then slowed down and he flew by. It was only up to around 45/50 mph then I slowed down. I don't need any more tickets... it was a slow zone. But he was racing, Does not matter if he was 100 or 10 years of age, these M-5's are made dummy proof for driving and racing. A race is a race no matter what happens... Winning's winning.

also to add about the jaguar price..

Never go by price from their website.... No dealer would give you that poor of a deal.

that price is before any discount...

those jags have no residual value what so ever...

The M equals the SRTJC 0-60. So, off the line, its next to you. It is over 1 second quicker in the 1/4th. So, after the 60 mph run, it walks away. The Viper is only .2 to .3 seconds quicker. So, the only way you would have outrun this German rocket, is if the "M" button was not pushed for the play session. That button brings all the 500 party favors to the event. Without it, your looking at a 400hp car...and beatable with the GC.

Omegaman-You must live next to a cemetery. I could outrun your Chevette on foot. :D

Hate to tell you but even in P400 mode my E60 M5 will beat my GC. I've tried it. Even from a dead stop. Over 6000 rpm the E60 M5 is a rocket.

My E39 M5 is a much closer race, and is completely dependent on a good launch, but it still walks away after 100 mph.

Bring it on. I'll put all 1.6 liters up against your Nikes. Sure, you will stomp me for the first 100 yards or so, but then I'll pull even and eventually you'll tire out and have to stop. And I'll claim the sweet, sweet victory. Believe it or not, I actually had that car doing 105 mph - down a long, steep hill on a lonely stretch of interstate. It was shaking like a dog sh*tting a bone.

I'd like to take credit for it but some random comic said that and I've adopted it for my own personal use. It really sets a mental picture.

Hell, I'll tire out after the first block..and, you are one of the bravest guys I know..105MPH? I drove one of my employees Chevette once. The shifter fell out in my hand, the driver door opened when I turned right and it over heated. All in the first 1/2 mile. I would not be caught dead in it over 35.

The speedo topped out at 85 but I had it pegged and had someone pacing behind me. When I tell you the car was shaking, I'm not kidding. As soon as I let off the gas the speed fell down to about 60 in 2 seconds (and I was still going down hill). That remains tied for my second proudest speed accomplishment in a car. But to call me brave? I was 16. I'm chalking it up to stupidity!

Hey ky-soldier, I notice you sold your E60 M5.

I actually just did the same. Even though it was indeed a rocket I did not like the car at all. Luckily I kept my 2003 E39 M5 which I have loved from the day I first set eyes on it.

One other thing to note is that even though I said the E60 M5 is faster than my GC SRT8, I think the SRT8 suits me much better than the E60 M5 did. I think BMW really missed the mark on this car.

i really liked the car, but not as much as i should have.

i like my boxster more, in that it really gives a much more pure driving experience. the M5 felt somewhat muted, and after three E60s (525 and two M5s) I still don't like the headlight wrap around bangle look (but I love the e90 look).

part of my decision also revolved around having a new baby and making a statement to the mrs that i could be a little more reasonable.

it's amazing though, for $50k, there are a LOT more choices of very high performance autos from almost every manufacturer that all have 300+ HP and sport suspension
