Hello my name is Amber and i am 22 years old about to be 23 in two weeks, yeah! Anywho I just bought a 2008 Jeep SRT-8 and I love it. Great gas millage let me tell ya. I had the tow package installed on it and it looks great they turned my mufflers down so they point towards the ground. It's awsome I've been tryin to post pics but i can't figure out how.... not computer smart. It's a fun ride I love it, but I'm thinking of putting the supercharger on it, if anyone out there has one on their Jeep message me and tell me how it's going with it. Thank you all! ;)

In in Tucson right now and ya the monsuns have started and everyone is driving so slow! Ya I love this color. I will have lots of fun on my trip out there gotta watch my speed. I had to get the tow package I'm towing my other car down from Oregon then to va with me plus I want a boat. The tow capacity is rated at 3500 lbs not much but enough for what I need. I've been here in Tucson for four years and its nice just to hot for me. Plus I want to finish my school up there in Virginia.

nice R-44 is that one yours? you know the sad thing is, is that that SRT has more cillinders than that helicopter! i love to fly I'm a baby in it though i only have about 60 hours. ya i'm pretty young to own one of these babies, thank Beachbum for me gettin this i never even heard of a Jeep SRT. They didn't have one here so i test drove the one below it and no comparison. Wasn't gonna get it but i thought what the hell i deserve something this nice. Nitro.... na a little extra money for constant power? well worth it i think... i can wait for that.

Oh ya and beachbum..... my baby is sexier than yours i've been in yours. have you even seen a Jeep SRT-8? if not you can ride passenger in mine, LOL.

Nice ride. Im not diggin the tow package either. Kevin on here has a killer tow package he had fabbed up that is invisible when not in use- think I might go that way. Welcome to the forum, there a few guys on here that know these things inside out and are willing to help (helicopter guy being one of em), read first, buy second - they will save you tons of money from buying crap.

Welcome to the familyAmber I was in Vegas and drove back to New York with Jeep on trailer but did drive to Vegas with Daytona Charger and it is a fun ride hope your not going alone it gets boring. Watch out for police. They try to radar you from otherside of highway as they are driving.

If it starts buggin me I'll change it later, gotta let it sink in, it does look funny but hey the exhaust is unique i guess and it made it a little louder.... don't need it too loud though. Keeping the rims clean is my concern. right now people are saying wait on the supercharger and really this is fully loaded, i want darker windows maybe a single flat black stripe on the hood crome the engine/ air intake ect. i really don't want to do anything to void the warrenty just in case ya know. This is a whole new vehicle for me i have a opel gt 1971 right now, had a couple other sport cars and a jeep patriot(only had it for about 6 months before this). so i'm not to up to par on SUV's and what you can and can't do to them. I honestly don't even know what this one can do yet. I'm going to class were you can drive the whole SRT line up and maybe i'll learn a thing or two there.

Change the rotors and pads. The brake dust from the stock set-up is just aweful! Vitually impossible to keep the wheels clean with them. Brake dust is the biggest culprit on the Jeeps.

By the way, your exhaust is brutal looking. Please do something with it.;)

^ agreed, when you're done using the tow package you'll have to toss it - get some R1 rotors and some GS6 satisfied brake pads, that'll get rid of the brake dust and probally the brake squeel you'll be getting within the next 1 or 2k. - Otherwise welcome and you might want to invest in a radar detector ;)

Yeah, I had a herniated disk that that made my whole left side go numb, or in lots of pain, so I had a fusion done....my avatar is my X-ray of my neck! As far as overseas goes, I have been over there a few times, and expect to be over there a couple more since I still have 5 years until my retirement.

i want a supercharger darker windows and chrome everything in the engine compartment. mmmmm that would look so hot. and maybe more idk what all can be done to it. ya i never even thought of a GC before someone suggested it, so i test drove one and liked it and ordered it. this vehicle is all new to me but i like so far!

It is a great ride, and fast as hell. There are great bolt ons that you can do to help out, before going the Supercharger route for less too. My friend Keoni (1BAMFR) on here is running a low 11sec 1/4 mile with just bolt ons and nitrous....faster than any Jeep that is blown...so far! A Bwoody CAI, an exhaust, new thermostat and a tune...lots of ways to go!

Um, yes and no. I like the esprit de corps that you get with your guys over there....but thats about it.....I would rather just stay home, but as long as I know people that are going and I am capable of going, I will continue to go.

Bolt ons are the mods basically...that you can just bolt on, like a cold air intake, exhaust, etc. For a tune you can get a Predator tuner, and buy a CMR tune from Andy (gotstroked) A tune really wakes your Jeep up and will add a bit of HP and will shave a few tenths of a second off your time.

The tunes are done through a handheld called the predator, an item that I feel any SRT8 owner should have. You can buy tunes and have them e-mailed to you, then you download them onto your predator and then put them into your Jeep. I am sure after a month or so around here, you will have a much better feel of the place as well as get to know who the people you want to talk to about certain things! As far as looking stupid, a lot of us do that...and do that all the time!!!!

You can get them from vendors on this forum. I know werks has a lot of sales on them usually. Just check out all the vendors on here, most of them carry them....but search around and find your best price, don't go with the 1st one you come across. It is called a Diablosport Predator, and it comes with canned tunes already, but a CMR from Andy will be so much better!

If you feel un the underside of the dash to the left, just below the steering wheel, you will find the OBD port....it is not under the pedal....

ALso, the look of the pipes facing down casued worse gas mileage than one can imagine. Why would yuo want to turn a dual exhaust in to a single exhaust system anyway. I have the towing package installed and I had another gargage (not the dealership) put back my old pipes. There is plenty of room for the towing package and the original pipes. I love it now that I can tow my mountain bikes anywhereI go with my girlfriend.

well im getting better mpg since they put them on like that went from 12.3 to 13.8 and my driving hasn't changed. i still have dual exhaust system and the growl is louder, just a little though. but ya i will probly go back the other way i just wanna get the feeling for them first see how i really feel about them being turned down.

Davis Monthan hunh? My unit made a trip from Camp Pendleton and stayed a few days on your base. It was the first time I saw a carving station and chef Boyardee serving us. We were visiting the Raytheon (Hughes) plant who made our TOW missiles.

I'm in Northern VA as well, in the Reston area right next to Dulles Airport. Your only 20 min down the road. Make sure you gives a shout when you get up here and we can meet up. Hey lovable - I saw this thread with someone saying they just got a new Jeep which usually gets about a dozen welcome relplies. Yours has hundreds, so I had to look....Now I have seen the pic (not the boobie one - still negotiating that) but I will officially say welcome and now understand why so many replies...;)

If you want to do up a hitch like mine later for more capacity, you can contact me or just find a good custom builder and follow the pics in my thread. In the meantime, just taking off those turned down tips and using the factory ones should improve the looks of what you have and anyone that has that hitch seems happy with it. I like the stealth look, but it does require some fabrication. For now at least you are towing...

I'm picking up the original pipes today and i'll put them on tonight while i'm at work. if i can, it can't be that hard i'll have all the tools. If not i'll have a friend put them on when they get into work. i do want to go with the stealthier look like what you have but i will probably wait till I'm up in Va and settled in.
