: window problems
06srt8satx 11-16-2006, 10:51 PM I know there was a thread about the auto up feature on the windows. When I use the auto up feature on my passenger front window, it goes up and then back down. i have to manually hold button to get the window up. I read in the manual about a reset feature but it doesn't work. Has anyone had it fixed at the dealer? i took it in with like 200 miles and all they did was spray it with WD-40. It did make it go up every time like it should, however a few days later, it started acting up again. Mine is 06 Red one. i have about 2,500 miles now.
SilverSRT8 11-17-2006, 06:32 AM I have the same damn problem. Just noticed it last night. I need to take it in for that.
Ink Pump 11-17-2006, 08:22 AM Was this problem resolved on the 2007?
MrHemi 11-17-2006, 08:33 AM Try auto-up on passenger window... while it's going up, hit the close button on the sunroof... passenger window stops and goes back down by itself. Weird.
Dr.Steve 11-17-2006, 08:45 AM I had started a thread on this a while back, mine has the same issue, had it sit at a dealer all day and they say it never happened, then it did it 3 times on the way home. . . asked the engineers during a Q&A session here and they said the button is "sensitive" and there should be an upcoming TSB, now is it just me or does anyone else think "sensitive" is an idiotic way to describe this malfunction???

Nope ... mine does it on the drivers side. Haven't tried it on the passenger side yet
Ink Pump 11-17-2006, 08:57 AM Yikes - you could easily leave the vehicle in a rush and have the window down. I'm going to try what Mr Hemi said at lunch time because I use the roof all the time and I just know I'm going come back and find 3 ft snow inside the vehicle
Lucky No. 8 11-17-2006, 09:03 AM Well I'm glad it's not just mine ... I was concerned the car had been possessed by the spirit of a dead elevator repair man
SRT8fan2 11-18-2006, 06:21 PM There is a TSB for this. Anyway, my 06 was doing it on the front passenger side. I took it in to the dealer, with the TSB printed out (I got the TSB at WKjeeps.com), and they have a ordered a part to repair it.
little leo 11-18-2006, 06:25 PM yea i have the same dam problem dealer said there is nothing wrong with it. i love my jeep but there are alot of things wrong with our jeeps. from the delay in gearing when in drive to the window. and i even had problems with my mirror on driver side whissling they had to replace that. anyone else hear about a recall that dealers are kinda hiding about windshield having to be replaced or resealed

Redshift 11-20-2006, 12:11 PM I had started a thread on this a while back, mine has the same issue, had it sit at a dealer all day and they say it never happened, then it did it 3 times on the way home. . . asked the engineers during a Q&A session here and they said the button is "sensitive" and there should be an upcoming TSB, now is it just me or does anyone else think "sensitive" is an idiotic way to describe this malfunction???
It's probably a de-bounce issue. When you let go of the button, do you just let it snap, or let it back into place gently before removing your finger? If you let it snap back, it probably triggers the down motion.
scottiekay 11-20-2006, 04:38 PM My auto up on the drivers side is broken. Not sure how easily this is fixed.
Goldengreek5 11-20-2006, 04:42 PM Ive been having this prob on the drivers side, the auto up doesnt work sometimes. When I have the window all the way up, I hold the up button on the window for bout 7 seconds, and then it wirks fine.
