I installed the Ultra Silverstars today but noticed that the owner's manual indicated that I had to remove a black platictic cover piece before being able to get at the headlight bulbs. But my Jeep GC SRT8 did NOT have the covers on either side. My only concern would be mositure that could get into that electrical area as I presume that is what the cover is designed to protect. Does anyone else have the same observation or am I the only one without these covers? Maybe this is a Canadian spec thing?

they stopped putting those covers in on late model 06's. I have an 07 (Canadian) GC SRT8 and it doesn't have the covers.

kman999 is right...sometime in late May I think they stopped. Kind of agree withyou on water issue. If you want them, they are inexpensive and will pop right in.

Thanks kman999 and teda for the great feedback and information!:) I will go and see if I can order them from DCX before they run out of the part. I'm worried about the water issue.

I ordered them and they do look really nice. Cost me about $5.50 per side.
