I had these made up months ago, and finally took the ride into the shop for a few things and had them installed. It's a 'carbon fiber' looking material. SRT8 logo embroidered on each one. I had to find outif I liked the material (and oh boy do I!)..... now that I know, I may go aheadand do the center console, pillars and headliner in it as well. Sorry for the crappy pics, but I needed to make them small.

Also added HIDs. The wrong kit came for my heads, so those will go in next week, but here is a shot of the fogs.

Damn. That is turning into one slick GC!!! I really like the door panels. Mind us asking how much for something like that? That radar detector is a clean install!

Those fogs look very nice and so does the interior. I think its time for a group price on the interior. The low beam HID's are what I am waiting to see. Over all it looks awesome.

does the carbon fiber looking vinyl come in different colors? the black looks sick but i would like something alittle "grayer" to match where those panels meet the dash

love what you did with the Escort! how much height does that slot in the dashboard have? (wondering if a V1 display would fit there)

ge2
11-14-2006, 10:36 AM
Yes, the material comes in several colors, from bright stuff to white and everything in between. I agree, gray would matcht he dash better, but I have more plans with black ;)

And the height of that slot? I'm guessing it's about an inch, but I'm not totally certain.

Door panels and radar detector look awesome. I'd be interested in getting the door panels done on mine for sure. Could you PM me a price on what that cost? If you don't mind that is.

I really don't know how much they'd charge for just the embroidered material, but if you call Car Nutz Customs, ask for Jeremy, and tell him you'd like him to pre-cut the patterns, embroider them, then ship them out to you, I'm sure he'd be able to accomodate.

ge2 - What do you need the radar detector for? I thought you drove like a granny?

Nice work on all. Everything looks like it "could" be factory.

By the way - I am new to this. Have been waiting to join until i get my Jeep. Not going to be ready until Christmas, but i couldn't wait any longer.

I totally drive like a granny, but on a recent road trip from Seattle to Boise (to watch my BSU Broncos play some football :)) I got a ticket in rural eastern oregon. A huge freeway, in the middle of nowhere, and I got nabbed for going a whopping 86 MPH. It was a $500 ticket. This radar detector should save me next time :)

Amazing install ... very clean. Just put the SR7/SRX at the top of the old Christmas list!!

I've never been a radar detector guy. Never felt the need, and honestly all the false alarms and random beeping never made much sense to me. This one is pretty cool. I got in, adjusted the volume, and haven't touched in since.

Is Jeremy the person who did yours...also where are they out of? Thanks

ge2
11-21-2006, 12:03 AM
Yes, Jeremy did mine. They are out of Bellevue, WA, but shipping something as small as four door panel pieces would be next to nothing.

How are those door panels installed? Do they snap on or slip over? I love them, I need a set!

ge2

They are cloth. They are installed over the stock plastic door pieces with adhesive.

Ge2 did you install your HID's that you had ordered?

ge2

Only the fogs are HID to date. My heads are at the shop, I just haven't had them installed yet. I LOVE the fogs though.

What kind of fog's are they?
Also where did you get them?
Thanks.

Do you have the 5000k or the 8500k?

Are they direct replacement? Will they fit stock mount?
Thanks for your help.
Rich.

ge2

Mine are 6000 and were a direct replacement. I did have some custom mount built for the ballasts, but the bulbs fit right in.

OK-- just got back. Jeremy said that he'd be happy to do these blanks and send them out to folks, but they won't be cheap. I've already paid for the 1 time setup fee with the embroiderer, so that part is done, but it's $30 per panel of embroidery, so that is $120, plus the material is about $30 a yard (only 1 yard needed), so $150 now, plus his time to trim and mark for the embroidery, he said these would be somewhere between $200 and $250 for the 4, shipped to you. Not totally sure it's worth it, but if anyone is interested, I'm happy to get it done for you.

I wonder how difficult the panels would be to self install. Does the dark grey portion on the door panel come off allowing the fabric to be wrapped around?

ge2
02-06-2007, 04:58 PM
I asked that today, and te top darker portion is heat welded on. So they need to be heated, broken, then re-adhered. I was told any pro can do it easily, but it may be tough for a do-it-yourselfer.
