: GC SRT-8 v Trailblazer SS
TommyLee 04-08-2006, 08:03 PM I went to MidAmerica Motorplex (MAM) tonight and ran a Trailblazer SS. Both vehicles are bone stock and the best run for both vehicles came in the 3rd run. It is a 1/8th mile track and the numbers are as follows:
Chevy Trailblazer SS - Left Lane
R/T: .143
60': 2.273
330: 6.362
1/8: 9.706
MPH: 74.25
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 - Right Lane
R/T: .083
60': 1.947
330: 5.663
1/8: 8.761
MPH: 79.53
The Jeep won all 4 races handily, but those were the best times for both vehicles. After a little more seat time in the GC, I am pretty sure I can get it below 8.500.

I'm sorry, what does Ford have to run against the TBSS and GC-SRT8?! Oh yeah...NOTHING! ;)
Good runs TommyLee! Any plans for upgrades/mods?

Good runs TommyLee! Any plans for upgrades/mods?I'm thinking that "GT" thingie they built might give the SS a pretty good run.
BLKltng 04-09-2006, 09:54 PM Nothing in an SUV/Truck class for right now though. They squashed the svt program.

 I believe its ford that does not deserve the capital f, they dont even make the lightning any more, of which i have the most fun with!
jms935 04-10-2006, 05:40 PM I agree turbotyphoon69. I just replaced my '92 Typhoon with the gc srt8.
goldsgym 04-10-2006, 06:55 PM A small block 281 with 500hp is more fun than you can imagine!

What are you talking about?! An Explorer GT? Never heard of one. And the Sport Trac Adrenaline or whatever got canned, so I'm pretty sure the sport SUV slot is still empty in the Ford garage.

Noone said anything about it being an SUV. The question was what did Ford have to run against the TBSS & GC SRT-8.

That's like the third time someone gave me the link to the video while telling me to look at something else.
QBNKID 04-18-2008, 07:10 PM Damn!! I thought a stock TBSS was faster than my 5.7L jeep.
Here are my 1/8 numbers...
60': 2.080
330: 5.945
1/8: 9.135
MPH: 76.64

I know this threads old, but since it's been bumped up I'll respond here.. What you are running now is about what a stock TBSS will run in the 1/8.. My best time stock was 9.06 at 79.x. at a not so great track in socal. Some guys hit 8s, and some are really slow like the TBSS in question here, I don't know how the track conditions were though.
BTW, I see you are in NJ. Most stock TBSS over there are running mid-high 8s in the 1/8 stock.

I thought of the posted times on that TBSS seemed kind of slow.
I don't expect to beat any TBSS stock or not with my 5.7L, but it seemed to be a closer race between a stock TBSS and my jeep (favoring the TBSS) than a TBSS against an SRT8 but we knew that already on stock vs stock.
