Is anyone else having the following issue with their automatic windshield wipers?
From time to time, when I start the engine the windshield wipers turn on momentarily. It is quite irritating because is smears whatever happens to have accumulated on the windshield (i.e. dust, bug guts, bird sh!t, etc).

Yep I get the same problem every morning
I'm not convinced my rain sensor is working right. Sometimes it has to rain very hard before they start up

Mine does it too. Not every morning but a couple times a month.

When I park in the garage at night and do not experience those problems. However, if left outside and the dew point is up( high air moisture content), this happens. Sounds like a little experimenting is in order to determine if there is a problem. :)

I can't recall if mine does this. But I tend to turn the wipers off. On my old Grand Cherokee, it was normal for the wipers to do one swipe when starting up. Maybe it is normal for the WK as well? I will try in my SRT-8 tomorrow.

It has happened to me only a couple of times, but I park in a garage. I think if the rain sensing camera sees anything on the glass in its view (dew, leaves), it will run the wipers at least once.

I've had this happen too. The only solution I have seen is to turn the wipers completely off. If you have your headlights programmed to turn on with the wipers, they will cycle on as well with the wipers.

This happens to me once or twice per month when the window is dry. However, when it rains, they seem to work very well. But this is also my first time owning a car with this feature so I don't have much to compare it to.
