Which are the wires you tap into using the invisicord into the rear view mirror- those b.s. directions arent worth the paper they're printed on as they are WRONG - so i know one or two of you managed to accomplish this, so what are the two correct wires to tap ??

I had the same deal with the instuctions. I'll look at mine in the morning if no one answers your question before hand.

Hard wiring a radar detector into the power of the rear view mirror. I have a V1 installed & it is great.

I have it in my 07 without any issues, and instructions were fine for me.

The '08's have a entirely different pin setup than the previous years, its a dual pin layout on the 08's

Raz, I just went and looked. You obviously have to crane your neck pretty good to see what is going on back there but you have a left and a right bank of squares where you can plug your detector wires into. There are also I believe 9 squares on each side. I plugged the red detector wire into the right side, one up from the bottom (I think a white wire with a brown strip is going into that one). On the left side I plugged the green wire into the very bottom square (black wire is plugged into this one). This setup worked for a Bel 980 and a V1. Hope this helps.

Depending on what type of detector you have I would highly recommend the Country Joy Craft mount. http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/ConnectorForRadarDetector.htm

This also might help if my instructions are hard to follow. http://invisicord.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33&sid=40b91297addba784574e280297fe95bf

^ Thanks !, yep got it to work using those directions. The crap they sent me was wrong, they had it mixed up. Saying to install the black wire to the 2nd slot on the right and the yellow into the ground instead of the other way around. Either way it looks pimp now... had to cut off the top bracket and fold it up though to clear all that sensor crap on the windshied...

Good you got it to work. I love how clean it is once it is done.

I tried one of those brackets. My V1 was either pointed down down at the front seats or up at the headliner. I guess I was doing something wrong, but figured I'd just go with the suction cups.

I was having the same problem until I realized the mirror has two ball joints (I think, I'll have to look). I started to put a little pressure on the mirror to get the V1 to fit (it is a tight fit) when the mirror moved enough to fit it in place. Believe me I was ticked & didn't think it would work either but in the end it did (the joints were just really stiff). Give it another shot. If it doesn't work I will send a pic. Actually Ace has some pics online with his V1 installed.

Joe, I have this countryjoy.com brackets and mine seems to be poointing straight. You do have to adjust it and play around with it to get it to point straight though.
