: New UK Owner
Just picked up an SRT-8 in Steel Blue on Saturday. I'm in Northamptonshire and traveled 160miles to pick it up from Bedale. Averaged 15mpg on the way back and have thrown it £140 in petrol already...
Great fun!

MARK16 06-16-2008, 07:28 AM Welcome to to an elite group of owners in the UK. I've had mine since Sept 06 and never seen another one (up and down the M6/M1 all the time 27K).
Thanks for the welcome Mark,
I'd be curious to find out exactly how many are in the UK - I've heard that the figure is very low (around 60). And indeed that we will not be getting any more on these shores.
But how much do Jeep salespeople know?

shanno 06-18-2008, 07:28 AM hi MiB. welcome onboard. i live in Belfast and i have only saw one other GCSRT8 here. these babies are not that common over here which is one of the many plus points for having one! people just dont know what it is. especially when its debadged. the best ones are when silly boy racers try it on at traffic lights!!! whoooosh. see you later. down fall - the fuel costs in the UK! gregg
brianm 06-18-2008, 09:53 AM watch out shanno i am comming to NI in August lol... where did you get the figure 60 mate?? i was in my dealer in glasgow last week and asked him , he reckoned its in the 100s, ?? but who knows ?
It's been a fun few days surprising people. It's certainly the most addictive vehicle I've owned.
Fuel economy is still in the high 14's but I might heed the advice and stop looking at it..
It's funny as my neighbour has a good contact in the LPG association and has already pointed me towards a conversion!!

SRSSRT8 06-19-2008, 02:34 AM Should have got the diesel w/ the SRT appearance group. Just kidding. I wish we could get more diesels here. i.e. a wrangler diesel would be a number one seller. Stupid ass gov'nment. There's more oil in Alaska than all of Saudi Arabia. (The Energy Non-Crisis by Lindsey Williams)

tanner 10-26-2008, 08:38 AM Hey guys,
Just a random question, seen one or two of these in the UK, but I am sure they have smaller rear tires, like, fronts & rears are the same. Believe the US is a 285 rear (too lazy to go and check) and that spins in the dry.
was I dreaming? if not, what's it like in the wet?
Enjoy!

brianm 03-16-2009, 01:33 PM Hi Guys, I have a '06 GCSRT8 in black and am looking for a replacement passenger wing mirror. Can anyone help? (Lincolnshire)
hi mate , apart from bending over a getting it from the dealer i think your screwed, i hunted high and low for taillights to tint without any luck
Holbeach_SRT8 03-16-2009, 02:08 PM Another US member has suggested; http://www.moparpartsamerica.com but i'm not sure that they'll fit!!. I'm still waiting for a quote from the dealer (expecting the worst!!). What do you think?
brianm 03-16-2009, 02:15 PM dunno mate , i ve found that parts are no more expensive here after you have paid shipping from the USA and import tax and VAT, the only problem is getting parts here
ivanford 04-09-2009, 03:12 PM Hi there, I'm in Lisburn in Northern Ireland, I have a black GC SRT8. I bought it new in February 2008. Mods to date Magnaflow cats back exhaust and Bwoody CAI. My MPG is around 17 up from 15 before the mods.

hi mate , where did you get you CAI from??
ivanford 04-09-2009, 03:31 PM I bought it direct from Bwoody in the USA, it arrived in a few days, Can't remember but the tax etc wasn't much. MPG went up after fitting the CAI and exhaust from 15 to 17mpg.
brianm 04-09-2009, 03:35 PM have you had any problems with your warranty from the dealership mate??
ivanford 04-09-2009, 03:45 PM Havn't had any warranty problems yet. I service it myself, I don't have much faith in any dealership. Charage as much as possible, do as bad a job as possible, they are all the same. When I do it myself, I know its done properly.
brianm 04-09-2009, 03:48 PM pretty much sums up my feelings too mate ,i just wouldnt want there to be a problem and they turn round and say they wont fix it due to the CAI mod
ivanford 04-15-2009, 01:44 PM It's very easy to change the CAi back to the normal set up, should only take a few minutes. The exhaust is easy to change as well, just a few bolts.

woodsy 04-28-2011, 02:56 PM Hi guys just thought i would say hi, iam from the wirral and my dad just bought a 2007 SRT8 yesterday in silver so add us to the uk owners list.Your right there isnt many over here as it took us a while to find one.We are just waiting for the number plate to get swapped over so pick the toy up in couple of days.I did notice when looking at the front brembo callipers that this one has green brake pads.I take it it may have EBC Greenstuff pads in if so theyre bit crap arent they for this weight vehicle.I may have to remove them and have a ganders.Nice to meet you all anyway.
