Just picked up the Jeep! :D

2008 - Black/Black - SRT I, Nav, Sun, CPO, 8512 miles

Long day! Started off 10am. Trying to get the damn Insurance company to make a simple fax. Arrived at the dealership in LI around 12:30. Finance took forever. Went for lunch on their dime. Came back, more BS. Finance still taking a while. Finally all done, down to the paperwork. Here is where the mess began. They tried to pack on the Bumper to Bumper Warranty, Theft and some other BS for the low APR of 5.64% or else it'd be something like 7% which is BS altogether since we agreed over the phone of 5.75%. More meaningless BS. Cursed off the finance guy over $1500 since he wanted me to stretch out the payment to 75 months to fit in the $1500 warranty. Almost walked out. They said $475/72. Stood my ground, and they agreed to $467/72 OTD a half hour later.

But I have it now :)

Pics and vid to come tomorrow.

The select few haters that I won't mention but can easily found since they jumped in everyone one of my threads  I don't want to be inappropriate now, you know? ;)

Yeah, 72 months. Did 60 months with the car before for around $25k. Did 72 with the GTO. I saved about 500 after interest for going with the longer term.

60 months would have put me over the top, and I didn't want to have that over my head. But I'll be paying it like it's at 60 months but at least have the option to pay less once in a while.

Couple more pics for those that are thick and choose not to believe, although, it isn't far fetched :D

Not sure what the ****ing $150.50 filing fees is about or the $65 VSI. I got new plates, so that has to be one of them.

In the end, I got it for $38k :)

Ok now we need a pic of the whole Jeep. Congrats, you must be happy as ****. 18 months to go on the lease, then SRT8 for me.

What did you end up paying for it $40k and change?

Very happy. :D Just sporting a headache from something. I guess the stress of almost driving 3 hours for nothing.

Yeah. I drove it very easy. Only got on it a few times. Light traffic. Hit some nice 65 mph cruise spots. Did neutral down a mountain :D 18+ can be had easily, but not having much fun ;)

$38k alone.

Then add in the BS $695 dealer prep fee and $49 fuel fee (****ers only put in half a tank). $38,744 afterwards, then begins the tax, down payment, et al.

I'm at under a 1/4 tank with 76 miles til empty

congrats. about fck'n time!

But I've never heard of a $700 prep fee on a used car.

:shrug03: Not much I could do about it. I saw 2 other buyers with the same form, so I know it wasn't some old or "special" form to make an extra $500.

And you "are" welcome here. Glad to see that everything worked out for you. Took a while, but I'll give you props for putting up with some of the usual forum BS. No one can say that you did not do enough homework to come to a decision regarding the purchase. If you are happy with the deal that is all that counts. There is the "real" value of the vehicle (what someone will pay) and the perceived value of that vehicle (what a specific one has for you).

You brought the whole buying experience to fruition, found what you wanted, and did the deal. Now keep on posting as to what you do with her (or him) and enjoy the info and people here. :D

72 months damn....that's nuts. nice truck!

GTO2GCSRT8

There was always 48 months, but I didn't like the idea of $670/month. 60 months would have been right around $550/month. They would have done $400/84 months, but 72 months at $467 it was! ;) I had to think about Insurance and gas which would be $200-$250 month.
