: Got estimate from hail damage....
Harrison@Stage6 06-12-2008, 12:22 PM Well, the State Farm guy just left, and my worst nightmare came true.... $6043.72 was the total minus my $500.00 deduct. The nightmare is I'm getting a new roof. I'm concerned about that for fear of everything not lining up correctly afterwards. I also get a new hood... YEAH... new front bumper, and all new chrome window pieces. I'm pissed though b/c they won't paint the rest of the truck. New paint on front bumper, hood, roof, and they're going to leave the sides alone, going to PDR them I guess. The guy was REALLY cool. I'm no expert in reading body shop estimates but looks like he got a WHOLE bunch of crap replaced for me. I honestly was expecting an estimate of $3K or something, not doubled. Oh well, we'll see what happens. He told me NOT to pay them the check or my deduct. until I'm satisfied with their job. Hopefully Jax. Jeep/Dodge will live up to my expectations.
Harrison@Stage6 06-12-2008, 12:23 PM I'm sure though the dings on the sides can be gotten out by the PDR guys. I hope......
Matt McKenzie 06-12-2008, 12:25 PM Hope it all works out for you!
Harrison@Stage6 06-12-2008, 12:29 PM Thanks Matt... I appreciate it. Already had a beer to start drowning the sorrow. About to start my 2nd.
Matt McKenzie 06-12-2008, 12:43 PM Hahahaha....I will join ya in an hour or so when I get off work!!!!!

aplatero1984 06-12-2008, 01:04 PM Harrison, yeah judging by the pics of the hail damage you posted before, I was actually thinking to be around that much with parts and labor and everything. Hopefully you get things starightened out buddy! keep us posted!
mikeT 06-12-2008, 01:33 PM jeez that blows...I've been in florida my whole life(north and south), and I've never seen hail damage like that!......at least they are fixing it the right way.....I'll take those headers off your hands if you're (thanks bridam) not going to be using them for a while!
SlickBrick 06-12-2008, 02:50 PM Good luck Harrison...I don't know how you're taking it so well....Oh wait BEER!!!
Seriously though, I would be beside myself if that happened to me.

ttyndall 06-12-2008, 03:07 PM Harrison
How long will it be in the shop?
ChrisWK 06-12-2008, 03:09 PM I would paint the whole jeep ,maybe they can cut you a deal on painting the whole jeep.
bridam 06-12-2008, 03:20 PM I would paint the whole jeep ,maybe they can cut you a deal on painting the whole jeep.
Usually you can find a place that will do it for the money cut by the insurance company
Harrison@Stage6 06-12-2008, 03:52 PM Yeah.... the beer is helping ALOT! I was thinking the same thning about seeing what it'll take to just repaint the whole thing/. I have NO idea how long it'll take. The first time I took it to the dealer they were thalking about a week, but that's before the whole new roof thing. I'd have to guess maybe 2 weeks at the most depending on how busy they are right now. I dio know that it all happend 1/8th mile over form the dealer and they got NAILED as well. WE'll see.......
AND NO MIKE... YOU CAN'T HAVE MY HEADERS!!!
Matt McKenzie 06-12-2008, 03:56 PM Have a beer with me Harrison!!!!!! I am getting one now!
Harrison@Stage6 06-12-2008, 04:04 PM Been there and doing that..... I've llost track after 6 so far. Been at the beach in the sun. Feeling groooooooovy. Read to EAT though. My buddy and his wife are staying here for 7 days with their 3 kids and MY 3 kids..... lots of drinking going on for the next 6 days now. WOO HOO!!
Harrison@Stage6 06-12-2008, 04:05 PM Thanks Blown..... the dealer orig, told me about $2500.00 to fix it just by looking at it. Makes me wonder what they really had in mind to do to it. This is at Jax too....
