little leo 11-05-2006, 08:53 PM hi all,
just wondering i had the corsa exhuast put on a month ago, have the mopar cai also, for a few weeks i have notice staining in my drive way. the only car in that part is my jeep. from where i can tell its coming from and i am not a mechanic. it where they attached the exhuast from the cat. my drive way is paver. red stone so the black stain you can see. not sure if its oil. has anyone had a problem like this on theres. i have to bring it in. also has anyone heard a i geuss a kinda winch or a grindwhen you turn the truck off. i took it in once and i was told ti is the all wheel drive transfer case that makes the noise. other then that. i love the truck. still trying to figure out what im going to do in the winter with the wheels. anyone else also have when your in drive and try to gun it, the car just dosent take off there. kinda like hitting the gass when your in the worng gear. any hlep on any of these probomes i wold love to know. thank you avery much for all your time.

Black_SRT8 11-05-2006, 09:03 PM Leo,
Glad to see you are still around. You your grammar was great in the first paragraph, but then you got lazy ;)
I have never heard of an exhaust leak. If the liquid truly is black, then it must be oil. However, some people on this board have reported small tranny fluid leaks as well.
Regardless, you spotted the problem, which is the first step. Now, execute preemptive measures and take your vehicle to the dealership ASAP. Good luck!
It's more than likely the tranny leak, & you could be low on fliud which may explain the driving problem you're having. JMO

I know what you are talking about with the exhaust,it is a small exhaust leak and it probably has to be tightened or reset properly, when you start the truck in the morning or when it is cold condensation builds up and mixes with the carbon buildup in the exhaust and will leakout or is pushed out of the unsealed spot, nothing to worry about just have it tightened properly. As for the winch noise I couldnt tell you still waiting for the beast,I have an 02 Denali with corsa exhaust and had the same problem with the black leak, easy fix ,loosened it up made sure it was seated properly the torqued it to the proper spec.
jlandbl 11-06-2006, 11:39 AM also has anyone heard a i geuss a kinda winch or a grindwhen you turn the truck off. i took it in once and i was told ti is the all wheel drive transfer case that makes the noise. anyone else also have when your in drive and try to gun it, the car just dosent take off there. kinda like hitting the gass when your in the worng gear.
The winch/grind when you shut the car off is the transfer case and is normal. My rig has this noise when powering it down, but only if I start it and don't drive it, then power it down. If I drive it, there is no noise at power down. My dealer checked this out and even did diagnostic work just to be sure.
The other issue regarding the car not accelerating well during a rolling start is the fact that the trans does not downshift to first if you are rolling above 5-10 mph. It actually holds it in second gear. Some on this forum say there is a computer fix for this but my dealer says there is not.
Sorry for the caps, periods and other punctuation.
tranny leak here. going in tomorrow only been leaking for like 2 weeks now

Mine too. Posted in another thread yesterday. Mine went in today. I will keep you posted. I think it's nuts that we can't check our trans fluid levels. What's the point of no dipstick?
jlandbl 11-06-2006, 06:29 PM Fixed. They replaced 2 O-Ring seals on the trans valve body.
little leo 11-08-2006, 08:42 PM Thanks guys for getting back to me. sorry for all the spelling and grammer. we all know i cant spell. lol. but on the sec. parh. there was a glitch in my cpu. even in emails all my letters were coming up wrong never realised it untill later. Im bringing my truck back to my dealer next week. Its a 5 star dealer but im having a problem with them. I have to say im very frustrated. You all know all the work i had done to my truck plus i only have 7 thousand miles or so and change the oil 3 times already. The dealer charges me 150$ per change, plus i had it serviced at 6g miles. anouther 170$ bought a new rim from them 1500$ cai 300 and exhuast 1300. so i told them about the leak and stains, to bring it in. Now i need a loaner car. i was told because i never took out there dealer extend warrenty i would have to rent one and pay for it. Now i told them thats crazy. Im a great customer, and bring in my truck to them for all this work, and payed cash, non warenty, they should love me and you cant give me a car for a day your going to make me pay. so they finally got back to me the other day and said only after i told them i would never bring my truck to them again and they would lose me as a customer that they would give me a car for only one day, but i have to take out a warrenty so i can get a car next time. Can you believe this? needless to say after they fix the drip, (only taking there this time cause they put on the exhaust) im done with them, going to find a dealer that appreciates all the money i spent with them.
Also sorry for the long msg. im having a problem with the passg. window the auto it wont go up all the way anyhtime i try to put it down, goes up and comes back down half way, takes me about 5 mins to stay up. Any one else have this problem.? heard somethings about our tires being defective, is this true>? well, have a great night everyone, looking forward to hearing what anyone has to say.
hey blacksrt how you been man? hope all is well, did you ever get your exhaust put on?

Leo

There is a TSB for the passenger window. I actually had mine repaired today at the dealership.
As for the tires, there is a Goodyear recall on them. Call you local Goodyear Service Center and tell them the the recall was issued on Oct 25th and they'll fill you in.
Good luck,
Grip

You can alway put some white plastic on the park place where it is leaking so it wont drain, and you may be able to tell what it is. I used to keep a sheet of 1/8" 4x4 white plastic under my engine so if something did leak, it would show right up on the plastic.
If it isn't the catalytic converter bearings going out, I'm not sure what would be leaking either except for perhaps something in the engine or transmission area travelling down.
Is there a TSB for these O-rings? My dealer said there was a TSB for the '05s not ours.
My cat bearings are shot... :D
