Looking at a 2007 Silver, 12k miles, SRT I, Sun, DVD located in TX for $33k.

They want $975 for an open trailer and $1275 for a closed. I was thinking of saving the $300 and going for the open because it's fully insured.

Don delivered mine on an open trailer through a snow storm. It was dirty as hell but not a scratch on it. I know others will have a different opinion. Oh. And I wouldn't count on the insurance. It's a used jeep--how are you going to disprove that the scratches weren't already there.

On the website, it's stated to be in excellent condition and over the phone I was told the same and they didn't seem shady at all. They have been on eBay for 3 years, have 100% feedback, and took care of any claims. I think I can only trust them at this point and hope for the best :)

Like I said. There is a difference between them taking care of claims when the truck crashes and there being a few scratches as a result of an open trailer... Just don't get your panties in a bunch over a few scratches.

So you think the extra $300 is worth it? There were only a couple vehicles shipped Closed and it was high line top dollar cars. If he's a liar, why would he down-sell me? Just curious.

Explaining things to you over and over again is frustrating at times.

Easy does it there. Who has their "panties in a bunch" now ;) You never picked one over the other, just hinted at the Closed over the Open.

I was just going by what the Manager said and what 90% choose, and only vehicles over $75k opt for the closed trailer. I see trailers all the time transporting Brand New cars on an Open trailer. Maybe he makes less on closed?

enclosed trailer might be less aerodynamic, reducing the mpg, and if he's towing it with a diesel, then expect a serious price increase. Last I checked diesel was $5.25

Yeah it's me again. You my man, need to lighten up with the comments like "panties in a bunch", directed to Bridam who has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND in trying to advise and help you in many ways, many times. He's a big boy and can certainly handle it, but makes you look like and ungrateful a** imho.

We all understand you're attempting to be cautious in your purchase, and get the best possible deal. However, many of your queries and comments are getting a little redundant.

You may not like it, but that's the way I see it. Bout time to step up and make a few decisions. Let us know if you finally make a move. Good luck on the purchase and the shipping.

(1) I said that my truck was delivered in an open trailer and it was fine--read between the lines

(2) Other people have had this debate and someone complained that their truck got scratched--use the search button

(2) You said that you were not worried because of insurance. I said--good luck trying to prove to the insurance company that scratches on a car that you've never seen with 12k were caused during the delivery.

I'm happy to help you and I've been supportive--but you've got to start listening and make decisions on your own. And, by the way, buy a bwoody because I can't stand to see another damn cai thread.

I don't get it. It appears you're willing to pay $33K for a used vehicle essentially sight unseen -- a used vehicle you've never test drove... and willing to believe a perfect stranger that wants your money with a passion.. but you second guess the folks here about their experiences?

Here's more friendly advice.. fly to Texas, take a close look and test drive that SRT before signing a contract. Then if it meets your expectations, drive it home and enjoy the vacation. Vehicles always look great in a photo on the internet.. trust me, take a closer look.

You see all those muscle cars at Barrett Jackson and Russo Steele going for over $100K -- even at close range, things aren't always what they appear to be.

yeah, I bought mine sight unseen...but it was brand new....used, and I'd want to see it... I think I paid around $750 for open trailer from st. louis to S. florida...not a scratch was on it.....open is cheaper because they can fit more cars on the double decker carrier. Bridam is a whinocerous!lol

Had mine shipped from Maryland to Seattle open trailer, no problems. This was a month ago. If it had been January I might have gone closed.

FWIW, It sounds like that might be from a place locally known as "ecarlink", or something like that. I've never seen a crappy car in their place. You should check out their whole "showroom" or whatever, just to browse and check things out. I checked out an E55 there 2 years ago and the place was spotless.

They're legit IMO. So I'm sure the Jeep is immaculate.
