: Squealing left rear brake. Is this normal??

I have to say I love this new Jeep. I took delivery on Wednesday and love every minute of it. I had to have the dealer fix my steering since the wheel was a little off which was no big deal. Anyways my question is this. Since I've been driving it I notice that the driver rear brake is squealing when I brake lightly. I thought maybe it was braking in but, I have about 200 miles and I still have the same sound. When I was at the dealer Friday I asked and they said that it is probably normal but, if it continues they will look at it. It has been dry up here in Chicago so this isn't the cause. Does anyone else ever this problem and is this normal??

It shouldn't be squealing. I would have to wonder what happened to cause the steering to be a little off. Might have something to do with the noise. Take it back and have them check it out!

I will have to bring it back on Monday then. I figured that the squealing was not normal. Dealers sometimes just don't want to fix problems. Thanks for the quick feedback.

I'm sure it's nothing major. I know I wouldn't want to be without my Jeep.

capitalst, did you bring your brake issue into the dealer and get it fixed? I'm interested as I think I'm starting to noitce the same thing. If yes what did they do to fix it?

Morning...You already might be familiar with Dave Z from M forums but....

I had squeal a bit when Jeep was new...followed this and squeal went away. Now about to hit 23,000 and have a slight occasional squeal from left front.
Front rotors show a slight amount of scoring, backs are perfect.

Give it a shot if you want.
