: Last Night~

So I was out last night and met up with some friends. One of whom has a WRX with some work under the hood. He wanted to race so I said what the hell. He begged me to launch with him so thats what we did. Needless to say I had him from the launch through the 1/8 and he almost caught me at the 1/4. After we hit 115/120 he came blowing by me like I was standing still. :( I only had him by 1/2 - 1 car length @ the 1/4, but i felt as if i hit a wall at 110.

Anyone else with a stock GCSRT8 experience this?

Without spending 10g's are there any performance mods that are safe and wont void my warranty?

Yes, there are.

If you would do a search, you'd realize there are not.

Noob or not, He's an SRT8 Jeep owner and I think we can help out our fellow people by telling them more than use the search button everytime they ask a question;)

You're right. Sorry about that. I was just too lazy to do a search to find that thread where I posted all the pictures of running searches. I'll run a google search for you about the jet chip to make up for it.

Bolt-ons are great. But not much will help you in the upper MPH, other than nitrous or a head/cam package. Our bricks are just notorious for being slow "up top." Nothing you can do about it other than the aforementioned ideas, or get a PPP 426ci. Good news, is from a dig, not many things can hang with ya. :)

I know all about the search button and since there are so many different opinions in sooo many different threads, all from different times, i thought i would get recent/ up-to-date information. Thank you SRTLUVR for actually answering my question.

And as for the jet-chip idea. I used that fantastic search button everyone has been telling me about, and read that it is one of the worst performance add-ons for the GCSRT8.

Was my search wrong?

^^^nope. Air in, air out and a tune.

like Calgary said...air in (Bwoody intake), air out (Borla S) and a tune (B&G, Predator). the gearing really effects your top end.
