Got the call!
"You have the most unique vehicle registered. Are you aware of the details of the event you are enrolling in?"
Guy was cool but I could tell he had some reservation regarding the Jeep.
Mined you this is a Porsche Owners Club event (It is open to all though)
I threw some cold water on his concerns as I said I'm just looking to improve my driving skills more than posting the best times. It is a instruction based program that looks to improve driving skills through one on one driving instruction which is what I was looking for. After going to the SRT track exp and seeing how bad I suck at really driving I wanted to get some real one on one (no sexual innuendo intended!) instruction.
If you think you can drive (as I did) chances are you really don't.
I'm looking forward to this Saturday!!

I've had a blast in all the competitions I've run. So far, I have always gotten the 2nd fastest speed in every race I've been classed in. I've beaten Porsche , BMW's, EVO's etc....
It's a blast to surprise everyone with a 4 door Jeep!

What is Autocross? What srt experience event is the closest too? the tight course with the teeny tiny cones?
Just curious.

My understanding is its a set up course that you race against the clock instead of wheel to wheel, with the best time being the winner. I would think that the viper segment or the high speed instructor following would be more the type of track layout of an autocross track.
I guess in this weekends case autocross might not be entirely accurate.
Didn't you participate in some track racing in your Jeep T-time?

I did, but it wasn't a competition. It was just open road course.
Which meant don't pass in the corners, don't hit anything and stay on the track.
Aren't those awesome guidelines. You will have a great time.
I'm going to do it again in Sept. it's on a Sunday in Joliet.
Pm me if You have any questions.

Yeah, AutoX can be on a track or in some cases a course laid out with cones. I've done both types at Bahrain International Circuit. If you get the chance it's definitely worth doing :)
Open track days are also a lot of fun........
