I say get there 8:30- 9, gates open at ten. Bro anything SRT8 is Mopar, so run the beast. Oh and if possible bring your own helmet, the ones at E-Town are kind of dirty. Google englishtown Raceway and you'll see the link, I forgot the website.

Jonathan, this is a 1/4 mile bracket racing event only for Late Model Mopars, we are not running the new track that opened up last weekend.
Like Joe said the gates open at 10AM, I personally don't think there's any need to be there earlier than 9:30, unless you want to be the very first one at the gate LOL.
I think Joe can't wait and he wants to be the very first one there (I'm not kidding, I think he'll be there at 6AM).:D

There will be time trials for everyone else who doesn't have a mopar.

There will be time trials for others (non mopar cars) not on our event.

Find me on Saturday, I'll give you some tips, but basically it comes down to this...
1. You have to write your dial-in number on your window.
2. You have to get as close as possible to that dial-in without going faster than that. If you do is called a brake-out and you'll loose.
3. Your reaction time plays a big factor.
4. You might leave the tree first or later than your opponent, based on the different dial-ins of each car. For example you have a dial-in of 13.00 and I have a dial-in of 15.00, that means I will leave the tree 2 seconds before you, so pay attention to your own light and not to when I leave, a lot of people red light do to that, they see the slower car launch first and they leave before they get their own light. So if I leave two seconds before, you'll have to play catch up, whoever crosses the finish line first without braking out or red lighting wins.

In bracket racing is more of a driver skill and then vehicle, it really doesn't matter what car is faster. I've beat 9 sec. cars with my mid 14s jeep to give you an idea LOL. BTW, racing 9 second car with my jeep is a scary thing as you're approaching the finish line :eek:.

I hope that helps and start to get you (or others) thinking about bracket racing.

Last time we went to Etown Crookster (Joe) did the bracket event for the 1st time and he loved it even thou he didn't get good results. He can't wait to go back this Saturday, he even bought a helmet already. He'll be chiming in soon I bet.

Man dont be nervous. Mario will give you good tips, but he has no mercy for you on the track (which I agree with, no mercy is allowed)! He kicked my ass when we raced. Even though that happened bro I am now hooked on this racing. I will be showing up to every event possible. Mario, where will we be meeting at bro? Same place as last time?

Don't race me (like Joe did LOL) on the first round of eliminations and you'll be fine, I'll be there to help anyone with their dial-ins and any questions they might have.
I think we will be getting about 3 to 4 practice runs this time since there won't be some of the regular LX guys competing this time, they'll be at the 2008 LX and Beyond event in Ohio. The practice runs will help us figure out our dial-ins and all practice runs are heads-up (not bracket).

BTW, if you win on the first round of elimination you'll win a little trophy (so keep your time slips). I'm sure you'll get one, we with the jeeps are very consistent with out times, having traction on all 4 helps big time, the LX guys will have to watch themselves on that.

I'll be there at 9:30 am or so, we can all meet at the gate and then once we pass tech inspection we can meet somewhere close to the staging lanes, if the staging lanes get assigned at tech and lanes are open I'll be going directly to the staging lanes.

NOTE:
MAKE SURE EVERYONE ASKS FOR THE LATE MODEL MOPAR TECH CARD IF DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER EVENTS.
Otherwise they might give you a tech card or time trials only.

I got 2nd place on a stupid mistake I did at the finish line. I was so sure I was going to win that one.
Ohh well... that was a good finish for my jeep, his last two events got in the final, first and second not bad right...? What do you think?

I am bone stock to the air filter. Absolutly no mods, I was running 16 in the 1/4 @ 86 mph. The weather played a huge role and the WK threw a MIL light.

About the times nothing close to what you guys are used to hear lol.
I was running 14.9, Crookster (Joe) was running 16.0x and another 3.7L jeep GC was running 18.3. How's that for numbers huhh?
It really doesn't matter in brackets, but in this heat I wasn't coming even close to my 14.3 best.
